These are a few of my favourite guns~

As any gamer will know, weapons are the bread and butter of almost any video game, with the exception being some platformers, fighting games, and the Stanley Parable. And anyone who has played at least three different games will have a few favourites. With that said, these are my six most favourite video game weapons. And the only reason why I listed 6 and not 5 is because the last two are actually really close. Number 6 by a margin smaller than the amount of Heavy mains in TF2 is the Tomislav. As a flank Heavy, this gun has been… [Continue Reading]

The 25 Year Old Love Letter

Sonic the Hedgehog started with a star-studded series for the Mega-Drive, now beloved classics; but his success in 2D was followed by a tortuously long downfall during and after the transition to 3D. But I’m not here to dwell on the painful history this time, but rather shine an optimistic spotlight on an absolutely incredible creation made by (mainly) two fans of the classics. With good reason, many had reached the conclusion that a good 3D Sonic game was an impossibility; an unattainable dream always out of reach. SEGA had failed to accomplish this vision in over two decades of… [Continue Reading]

The Newish League of Legends Look

Over the last few months or so, Riot has finally finished working on the new look for the League of Legends client, and it’s now finally the main client, with the old one going bye-bye forever. Really, it was about time, as the old client was a mess of bugs and weird glitches and was just a little bit outdated. Plus it used Adobe AIR, which is a massive pile of shit. My first thoughts on opening LoL for the first time in ages was “where’s the launcher?” since Riot have now combined the LoL launcher/patcher with the client itself.… [Continue Reading]

Ten Really Fucking Annoying Warfame Enemies

I’m angry, so I’m writing an angry article about angry things! Rargh! Today’s rant of anger is directed at fricking stupid Warframe enemies I’m sure that most people probably hate. But for you readers, here’s a way to learn about them without tearing your hair out in horror. At number 10, we have Nullifiers. Nullifiers are Corpus enemies, weak mooks wearing stupid suits with corkscrew-like generators on their backs. These bastards produce a large, glowing shield (blue for normal Corpus, gold for Corrupted Corpus). This shield not only blocks bullets, but if your Warframe touches said shield, it will instantly… [Continue Reading]

Burly Beast

Some time before Scream Fortress 2016, there was a Reddit thread about how some mercs got shafted really bad when it comes to cosmetic distribution. This was what I said: If you wonder what “this” refers to, it’s this. And guess what got added during Scream Fortress 2016? Exactly that. Now, I’m not saying Valve listens to me, but Valve added a cosmetic that was submitted and last updated a whole year ago when there are other submission made that year. By the way Valve, if you are still listening, I still want my jetpack. As one can see, this tears… [Continue Reading]

A Very Angry Kitty

Once upon a time, I was randomly gifted a Warframe from a very nice person on Reddit who is MR23/4 and has way too much time on his hands, having been around from the very beginning and owning rarities such as Excalibur Prime. I thanked him kindly then spent a long time leveling this Warframe up, only to discover why everyone liked this character so much. Now that I have leveled up Valkyr and have her nice, shiny Prime version, maybe it’s time to talk about her. Valkyr is normally unlocked by defeating Alad V on Jupiter. Alad V is… [Continue Reading]

Team Fortress Arcade

When we talk about TF2 fan games, most of us will think of Gang Garrison 2, or maybe Fortress Forever. Some of us might even mention the TF2 Dating Sim, and … we’re not talking about that one. However, there is another little gem released in 2011 that I found out from watching FUNKe’s video. Out of curiosity, I downloaded it and had a look at it. Team Fortress Arcade is a fan game by Eric Ruth, and just like what the title said, is a remake of TF2, arcade-style. It supports local multiplayer for up to 4 people on… [Continue Reading]

Digital Extremes Announces Keystone

Digital Extremes, the weird people who made Warframe and filled it full of weird prepubescent space kids, are making a new game called Keystone. They announced the new game on their new Twitter account, @PlayKeystone. The announcement was on the 23rd of May, and there’s also a related website, PlayKeystone.com. The game is said to be a first-person, team-based shooter. It’s set in some other timeline, not at all related to Warframe, with ‘every move’ transporting you into battle. Keystone will apparently blend first-person action with ‘deck-building strategies’, implying there’s some sort of collectible card element to the game, perhaps… [Continue Reading]

BarrierWatch

I’m finding myself playing less and less Overwatch these days, and while part of it is the new workload from preparing for my Master’s program in game development later this year, another part of it is me getting pretty tired of a mechanic that seems to have been Blizzard’s answer to too many balance problems. I don’t think there’s a single element of Overwatch that’s been buffed as many times as the barriers have. When the game was first announced, there were only two barriers among the initial twelve characters, and Winston’s sucked. Now, it’s perfectly possible (heck, downright common) for the defensive… [Continue Reading]

Tin-1000

The Mann vs. Machine Update of 2012 brought us a lot of new content. A whole new gamemode, a new series of reskins, a new comic, a new video, and of course, new hats. And among all the hats, the one that I like the most is the Tin-1000. Aside from the Soldier’s Stogie, Archimedes, Robro 3000, and the Operation Steel Trap Badge, the cosmetics are roboticized hats, one for each class. They’re based off some parts of the mercs’ robot counterparts, or in two cases, robot version of the Officer’s Ushanka and the Fancy Fedora. I can’t find anything to back… [Continue Reading]
