Major League Magic Attends The Mix and Sammy’s Showcase 2018!

This was an eventful summer for Major League Magic! We were able to secure sponsorship from UC Santa Cruz to attend two exciting gaming events. The first, The Media Indie Exchange, is a big expo dedicated to indie games, where a select group of indie game enthusiasts and industry professionals review and select the features games from a large list of applicants. The event took place in Los Angeles, on the roof of the elegant 1010 Wilshire Apartment Complex, and we were lucky enough to get the only air-conditioned room since our game needed an internet connection! The Game Developer’s convention is a yearly expo where professionals in the games industry all meet up to swap stories, listen to lectures focused on the developer’s perspective, and give each other business cards in the hopes of forming connections and (for some of us) getting hired. I Attended DreamHack 2016!

DreamHack was in Austin this weekend, which means it was a short fifteen minutes away from my house! Due to other obligations, I was only able to attend on Sunday, but I was okay with that because it meant I’d get to see the Grand Finals of my first ever Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. The CS:GO tournament in question was open only to North-American teams, though two Brazilian teams were also in attendance; Luminosity Gaming and Tempo Storm.
