CS:GO’s New Coop Game Mode

I know I said it’d be a while before I made a new CS:GO article, but I forgot to mention probably my favorite new addition from Operation Wildfire: co-op mode! Yes, CS:GO is getting some sort of game mode revolving around fighting NPC enemies with your friends, and a lot of the coming maps haven’t been seen yet since people with the Wildfire coin have to get far enough along to unlock them. At 2:18 in the video the videographer clearly winds up in the apartments from Left 4 Dead 2‘s Dead Center while Payday the Heist menu music plays in the… [Continue Reading]

aabicus tries to CS:GO, part 4

Big milestones today! Most of what I describe in this article I recorded on video, but after recording, when I try to open said video I get this: So RIP a little bit of aabicus’ CS:GO history. Because this included a few big milestones; my rank up to Silver 3, my very first competitive match, my purchasing of the Wildfire coin, my first game of Deathmatch, and my first time on a bunch of the new maps. Part of me is a little glad my last Silver 2 matches weren’t saved, because they were downright abysmal. I basically did nothing… [Continue Reading]

New CS:GO! New Nuke!

UPDATE: Going to video settings and dropping everything to low/disabled makes it possible to play on AMD graphics cards! Whatever the problem is, it must be the same one that was plaguing ctf_2fort_invasion when it first came out. Please ignore how salty I was in this article.  Operation Wildfire just went live for Counter Strike: Global Offensive! The new Wildfire campaign comes with single and two-player missions, as well as bonus Blitz missions “for performing specific actions during global windows of opportunity”. Whatever that means. I’d love to tell you but apparently people with AMD graphics cards crash immediately upon joining… [Continue Reading]

aabicus tries to CS:GO part III

The more Counter-Strike:Global Offensive I play, the more interested I get in its version of asymmetrical multiplayer. Despite being a competitively-ranked player vs. player military shooter, it does not follow the common trope of giving both teams similar arsenals. Instead, the terrorist and counter-terrorist ordnance are differ from each other in several very distinct ways, encapsulated best by the two signature rifles of each team. Like other games, CSGO chose to differentiate these two guns primarily through emphasizing either damage or accuracy. The AK47 hits much harder than the M4A1-S but at the cost being far less accurate, a distinction that… [Continue Reading]

aabicus tries to CS:GO Part 2

(Technically there’s a chance Sham1 himself is going to make a Part II to this article, but it’s been 10 months since he wrote it so I’m going ahead and assuming the slot’s open.) D4mo bought me Counter-Strike:Global Offensive for Christmas! I’m super excited, not only because it’s the largest hole in my Valve collection and I’ve always wanted to try it, but also because I’m currently visiting my parents for Christmas and the only computers they own are Apple. Since Apple TF2 is currently experiencing a bug causing a crash to desktop within seconds of joining a server, I’ve had… [Continue Reading]

New CS:GO update – Reanimated

Oh look an update that does not include skins, music kits or the likes of that! An update that fixes some bugs and adding new features! For those that don’t know yet for some reason, there has been an update to CS:GO today, or yesterday, timezones are werid. Anywho, it brings us a whole animation overhaul, updated hitboxes and thus even fixing most hitbox glitches like screwed up hitboxes on ladders, when jumping and during the plant animation. We also magically summon a PDA with cables whenever we defuse now. You also now draw your weapon in the world model… [Continue Reading]

Fire and Smoke go through the dust, too!

Hey there, fellow people that read The Daily SPUF! As you can probably tell from the name of the article, this one is CS:GO related instead of TF2 related, and today we will be learning some good smokes for the most recognizable map in the Counter-Strike series, Dust2! How I got to like Dust2 is kind of a coincidence, since it was one of my most hated maps (probably due to me liking more CT-sided maps like Nuke instead of balanced ones), but trying out “new” maps I thought that Dust2 is quite OK, and now it’s one of my… [Continue Reading]

Medic’s Opinions on the new Decorated Weapons

Meh. Lots and lots of meh. Okay, let’s be somewhat serious here and have an actual conversation about all of these dramatic changes that have suddenly appeared in TF2. It’s clear as day that hats no longer sell. So Valve has turned to weapons and taunts, things that people do actually see, even while they’re killing people. Hats were going to have to die down at some point, we have over 1000 of them, not all of them technically hats, but still, that’s a lot. There’s not enough backpack space to actually own every hat in the game. So here… [Continue Reading]

Sham1 tries to CS:GO Part 1- The Beginning

Four thousand five hundred hours of TF2 and counting, one hundred and forty one hours of CS:GO. This is my  first blog post about my attempts at getting decent at Counter-Strike. This picture pretty much sums my experience with CS:GO at this point. The question of “How should I play this game?” is very important to me, and because I myself am a person who does not like to do stuff like matchmaking on games like this before I know I am very good at it, it will probably stay like that for awhile. But because I got myself a FACEIT account, I… [Continue Reading]
