4 Dumb Ways We Could Make The Conclave More Accessible

The Conclave is weird. On the surface, it just seems like a standard PvP area with different game modes. However, it’s very under-populated. In fact, the only thing keeping it going is a small group of hardcore players, and the curious newbies that occasionally get stomped on. But what could we do to make Conclave more popular? Well, I have some ideas. More Events A few years ago, there was a Conclave-only event, where you could only use Bows. It was a Valentines Day event, and the idea was to have some silly fun. There was also a snowball fight… [Continue Reading]

How I would have done a Sustainability Event in Pokemon GO

A couple of weeks ago, we had a Sustainability event in Pokemon GO. As part of a sustainability campaign by Niantic, all its games are getting events. Mostly to raise awareness, I think. Now, I don’t play Wizards Unite or Ingress Prime, but I do play Pokemon GO. And I can tell you this: the event was kinda boring. And it didn’t really raise awareness. But it’s not hard to have made this event more interesting. So here’s how we’ll do it. First off, a summary of the actual Sustainability Week. There wasn’t much to it. Some Pokemon in raids.… [Continue Reading]

5 Quality of Life Features I’d Like to See in Pokemon GO

I do enjoy Pokemon GO, but sometimes the game feels like it’s wearing me down, that some basic actions are rather tedious and annoying, only fixed with a little bit of trial and error. So I’ve gone and made a little list of features and changes that I feel would make Pokemon GO a little bit more user friendly! The ability to view attacks or elements when picking Pokemon for battle I’ve got a good 10 Houndooms, all of which have got different attacks and different CPs. Most of them have dark attacks, but a couple of them have either… [Continue Reading]

An Idea for a Sergeant Rework

I have two favourite bosses in Warframe. Tyl Regor is an amazing boss with an amazing fight in a cool area, and he’s got this buttery smooth voice that taunts you, making the long, tiring farm for Equinox not nearly as awful as it should be. Tyl Regor’s boss fight is enjoyable and has good mechanics. My other favourite boss, the Sergeant? Uh, not so much. You see, the Sergeant is a relic of the past. Back when Warframe was young, most bosses were just bigger versions of normal enemies, in a different colour. Vay Hek was originally just a… [Continue Reading]

Ideas To Spice Up Missions

The Acolyte event in Warframe has ended, and the Ghouls event is slowly ending too. The basic gist of it was that the Acolytes, a bunch of edgy friends of the Stalker (last seen in the Second Dream), are roaming around and need to be killed. Each one would hide on a node somewhere on the star chart until someone stumbles across them in a mission, which helps pinpoint the Acolyte’s location. Once they’re found, people can do the mission and search the map to lure an Acolyte out of the shadows, fight them, defeat them and get some rare… [Continue Reading]

On Pre-Match Paralysis

The Pre-Match freeze is something that every TF2 player has experienced, something that you encounter every single match you play, and something that’s been in the game from the very beginning. And yet I think it may be one of the least-discussed facets of the game. I know I thought about making an article on it twice in the past two years and both times abandoned the notion due to lack of content. Why does it happen? When I first wondered about it, I wasn’t even sure if it was intentional. Maybe the map’s loading, or something in the background has… [Continue Reading]

A really simple way to fix class classification.

Everything is argued about and scrutinized in Team Fortress 2. Whether it’s new hats, new weapons, new maps, old maps, old weapons, old hats or the classes themselves, they get picked over by us ravenous bastards. Even how the classes are classified and laid out is a problem to some people. There is actually a genuine argument to be had with class classification. Does each class actually fit in its given classification? Most wouldn’t really give it more than a passing thought, but there are issues with the current classification system. Let’s take Demoman as an example. Like Heavy and… [Continue Reading]

Mixed up Valve Timelines and You

Valve are known for their strange, confusing story telling, with mixed up, confusing timelines. The question that has bothered many is whether our favourite first person shooter series is connected to the other popular first person shooter, the fps storytelling cliff hanger, the puzzle game and the zombie survival game. Are Valve’s games all connected to one another? Sadly, right off the bat, the world of Team Fortress is not connected. The catch up comic starts in the 1800s, predating really any other game. Unless Dota 2 is set in the past, but the variety of magics and technologies, plus… [Continue Reading]

Stupidly Simple Changes – Quality of Life Fixes Edition

Originally, I was going to call this article “A bunch of fixes for weapons that totally don’t need it”, but two problems cropped up. Firstly, it’s a stupid idea, no one wants to read about purposefully overpowered weapons, secondly the idea kinda fell flat on its face because there was too much to talk about and thirdly, it’s just dumb. So why not turn to fixes that we could actually do with. You know, like those two Stupidly Simple Fixes articles I did. You know, this one and this one. A Quality of Life fix is basically what the Spy’s… [Continue Reading]

Medic’s Pre-Birthday Wishlist

It’s my birthday tomorrow. Instead of asking for a pony or something, I’m going to ask for TF2 stuff. Not items, just some small things that would benefit us and that I’d like. Of course, none of this will happen, but it’s worth mentioning. Or just idly talking about. Talking is nice, right? Thing the first: A little bit more conversation between us and Valve. I’m not actually asking for constant updates and blog posts and stuff. Back when Left 4 Dead was more of a thing, the people who wrote the L4D blog would do the occasional history lesson,… [Continue Reading]
