An Article About Our Trickster Warframe

I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Loki. When it comes to invisible Warframes, Loki was my first, and I got him pretty early on. He was also, surprisingly, the Warframe I ended up taking when I did the quest the War Within, where I unlocked my Operator’s true potential… and kinda left Loki trapped in a Grineer trash heap for two weeks while I struggled with invisible Golden Maws. But time has been cruel to the Trickster Warframe, and he’s really struggling to remain even remotely feasible these days. Today, I am going to discuss how… [Continue Reading]

The Actual Speedster Warframe – Does He Threaten Other Speedsters?

I don’t normally talk about Warframes that haven’t been released yet because I like to play them before I judge them. That’s not the case with Gauss, the speedster Warframe. While his best friend Grendel, the oni Warframe who is set to be released at the same time as Gauss, seems pretty cute and not at all deadly, a lot of people have been wondering whether Gauss will be stepping on the toes of existing Warframes, most notably speedster Warframes like Volt, Nezha and Zephyr. The question is, will he be a straight upgrade? Will he leave other Warframes in… [Continue Reading]

Prime Access is Too Expensive

I don’t normally have a lot of major complaints about Warframe, but with the current Unvaulting of Frost, Loki and Ember Prime, I feel this needs to be said. Prime Access is way too fucking expensive. As it stands right now, there are four Prime Access packs available. The first three contain a Primed Warframe, a couple of Primed weapons and a handful of Primed Accessories, the accessories only being available from these Prime Access packs. You also get 90 day boosters of some sort and a handful of Platinum to spend on what you want. The last pack contains… [Continue Reading]

On Stealth Warframes

So I had to play Loki the other day. I was farming the Plague Star mission with a group and they requested that I go Loki to help speed things up. By speed things up, they mean by using Switch Teleport to get the drone moving faster. Honestly I think I actually made the mission take longer, because multiple times I accidentally Switch Teleported team mates instead of the drone. Mostly my fault, but they WERE standing right next to the bastard. Still, it got me thinking about things. Mostly about stealth. Stealth in Warframe is pretty hard to obtain… [Continue Reading]

A Bonus Unlikely Story – The Scared Excalibur

“An Equinox, an Ivara and a newbie Excalibur head to a bar!” the black and red Ash grinned as he dropped down from an unprotected vent. “Well, the other two bullet jump in, the Excalibur just walks…” “Don’t make fun of the newbie,” the equally edgy black and red Ivara tutted. “Not his fault he’s literally just escaped from Vor’s influence.” “Well, he’s only going to hold us back!” Ash’s mood dropped. “This is a spy mission after all! A Spy mission on a Grineer ship of all things. Isn’t the place for a newbie Excalibur!” Again, Ivara tutted. “We’re… [Continue Reading]

On Running Too Quickly

So the other day, I was testing stupid builds on Volt and seeing how fast I could do low level capture missions. The best I managed was 65 seconds, achieved with a rather basic Speed build, but also requiring a lot of luck. The map I got turned out to be very small so I could get through it super fast. Unfortunately, Warframe is not a great game to speed run because the majority of maps are randomly generated. What I got for the 65 second Capture Mission was not normal, normally you’re looking at about 150-200m to reach the… [Continue Reading]

The Other Other Starter Character

When you first play Warframe, you play a tutorial quest in which you pick one of three starter characters. The default option is to pick Excalibur, the sword-using guy, who is a nice all-rounder character, sort of like your standard knight in an RPG. The next option is Volt, a lightning-chucking speedster who obviously works like some sort of mage character. And then there’s Mag. Mag is your third choice. Originally, the third choice was Loki. Loki looks and works like a thief or rogue. He fits well but was removed because he’s hard to use, needs to be maxed… [Continue Reading]

PowerPoint Presentation Loki

I like writing articles about individual Warframes. Each one has got their own character about them. Volt is a derpy thing with square knees that throws lightning, Frost is a chill dude in a coat and Trinity is boring as fuck. Loki in particular is a nice character, boasting invisibility and speed, but being about as strong as wet toilet paper. But sometimes there’s a bit of overlap between characters. There has to be eventually, there are only so many ideas out there. But I didn’t think that such a large overlap existed already. Let’s talk about Ash. Ash is… [Continue Reading]

A Generic Trickster Warframe

So many games with multiple characters have one. A generic trickster character. Sometimes a good guy, most often an enemy. And most of the time they’re named Loki. Warframe is no exception to this unwritten rule of trickster characters. He doesn’t look like a trickster, and he’s not even the only trickster character around, but he’s definitely a slippery little monster. Loki was originally one of the choices in character you could have when you start Warframe, and funnily enough, he was replaced by Volt of all frames. Probably because Volt is much simpler as a character. Loki’s gameplay is… [Continue Reading]

One Last Look at the War Within

“Why the fuck would I want to do that?” Those were the fateful words of my brother as he helped me complete the War Within. Those words summed up everything I felt about this quest. That phrase was also repeated several times throughout the quest as well. The War Within is supposed to be about your Tenno space kid growing up and becoming more mature. Well, that’s the underlying plot. Really, the plot drags you kicking and screaming into that, due yo your space kid’s actions, when it should be looking at whatever the hell Teshin was doing, finding the… [Continue Reading]
