A Random Chat About A Scan

The other day, I experienced something new. On my doctor’s request, I went to a radiology clinic to get an MRI done. In fact, this MRI was so unusual and new to me, that I feel it’s worth talking about. For those who don’t know, an MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) is a way of viewing and inspecting inside your body. You basically sit in a giant magnet while radio waves bounce around, generating a view of inside your own body. While X-rays are normally used for bones and the like, an MRI is used to view our more squishy organs.… [Continue Reading]

*Insert E3-Related Things Here*

I’m supposed to care about E3. It’s pretty much the biggest gaming thing in a year. This is a gaming blog, I’m supposed to cover things like that. There’s a ton of cool and maybe not so cool stuff being shown. Heck, apparently, later on today (which would be Monday 11th of June, but you know what time zones are like), there’s going to be some Warframe-related stuff. On top of that, there was already a reveal for Anthem (which looks very Destiny-y and Warframe-y) and the vaguest mention of an actual Elder Scrolls 6 game, despite the fact all… [Continue Reading]

Lycanthropy and Vampirism in Skyrim

What is it with wet-dog-smelling people who hate the moon and blood-drinking albino people scared of sunlight? I swear, vampirism and lycanthropy are all the rage, always have been, and will probably continue to be amusing people for decades to come. As for me? I’m really not fussed, since both are always shitty conditions to have and there’s always some stupid downside to plague you. Screw immortality, I like going outside on a sunny day, then looking at the moon at night. Skyrim is no stranger to these two curses. The only problem is that they’re both pretty shit. That’s… [Continue Reading]

A thing about MMOs

I’ve been trying to like Elder Scrolls Online. Like a lot of things, I always end up not liking something for some reason and I can’t explain why. I’ll sit there for ages, playing a game and not knowing what makes me hate it. But with Elder Scrolls Online, I think I have finally put my finger on it. It’s because it’s an MMO. My first introduction to an MMO was a brief stint in Runescape. This was back in 2007-08, so it may have been a pretty good game, or it might have been shit, I don’t really remember.… [Continue Reading]

Medic Does Competitive – Week 2 6v6 and 4v4

Ah, matchmaking. A process in which you’re matched up with enemies of a somewhat similar skill level, in the hopes that you’ll have a nice, happy, balanced but challenging match. Except maybe not. This week’s competitive events were not exactly fun for everyone involved. So, the 4v4 team known as SCUD is no more. We formed a new team called SPUF EU, consisting of myself, Confusion, Sham and Davjo, with Keith and Jensen as subs and newcomer w0lk joining the ranks. Last season, we finished off in 9th place in Euro Steel, with a somewhat okay score of 6-3. This… [Continue Reading]
