The Pitta Bread ‘Conspiracy’

Living in what is essentially just west of the Middle East, pitta bread is very common. Pitta breads (pita in American English) are flat breads with pockets. They are also very tasty. Pitta bread seems to be best known in two different ways to the more Western world. It’s either cut into slices to use as scoops for dip. Or, more commonly, you wrap a pitta around kebab meat. But there’s something off about the humble pitta bread. The Pitta is a versatile bread. In fact, this humble bread has many forms, all over the Mediterranean and Middle East! Really,… [Continue Reading]

A Random Ramble About Pizza

Pizza is great. Anyone who says they hate pizza is lying, or either allergic to gluten or lactose or something. Or maybe they just haven’t had a pizza they liked yet. Frankly, it’s a nice, filling meal that’s easy to make and enjoyed by most people. Regardless of age. I could be 80 and still want pizza. It’s just so damn versatile! A pizza for everyone. The most obvious cool thing about pizza is that you can have so many different toppings. Nearly anything works, from a variety of cheeses, to grilled vegetables, to a wide array of meats. There… [Continue Reading]

Microwave Cakes

I’ve been stuck indoors a lot more than normal. And when I’m stuck indoors, I tend to get hungry for no real reason. Now, sure, I could always do some exercise or something. I could do something to make my hunger warranted. But I’m a lazy bastard, so rather than exercising in any way, I find myself walking to the kitchen. And then walking back out because there’s nothing I fancy. Then I walk back in and start baking. Before I start rambling however, here’s a recipe for you: Medic’s Microwave Cake Recipe Ingredients (makes 2-4 mugs’ worth of cake):… [Continue Reading]

Burgers, Meatballs and Other Lumps of Meat

As I was writing this the other day, I had burgers cooking in the oven. I made them a bit too thick and wanted to make sure they were completely cooked all the way through, because I used pork mince rather than beef mince. The smell is pretty nice but somewhat overpowered by a BBQ sauce I made because I’m going to cook BBQ chicken drumsticks tomorrow. But as I was making the burgers, a simple thought wandered into my mind: “Oh my god, this is actually really easy.” And the more I think about it, the more I think… [Continue Reading]

The Blessed Sandwich Toaster

For the longest of times, I was never a fan of the humble sandwich. There was something about it that put me off. More of a local thing than anything else. For example, the local traditional bread is nice but it’s too crumbly and dry to make a good sandwich out of, it was always better for plain jam on toast or dipping strips into sauces. And then there’s the whole issue of living in a hot country. In the summer, bread can go off in days. And if it doesn’t get moldy, it either gets filled with desperate insects… [Continue Reading]

How Do They Eat? Early Warframe Lore Ideas

It’s been known for years that the Warframes we use to kick the asses of Corpus, Grineer and Infested weren’t always what we thought they were. They were never really just people. What they were, we didn’t know. Early lore suggested that the original Warframes were feral and terrifying, hungry, destructive monsters. Rhino Prime’s codex entry (unlocked by owning Rhino Prime and viewing him in your Codex on your ship) was one such example, noting a story from an Orokin scientist, watching as an early Rhino Warframe kills and eats his fellow scientists, only to be calmed by the presence… [Continue Reading]

On Macaroni and Cheese

I love a good old pasta dish, filled with pasta and cheese and some sort of sauce. My favourite pasta dish is my own homemade macaroni cheese, made with whatever pasta I have in my cupboard, a bechamel sauce with an egg yolk in it, mustard and plenty of cheese. The cheese in question varies depending on what day of the week it is and how many sandwiches my cheese-loving sister has eaten, but still, it’s always good. The recipe itself is simple. You boil your pasta for as long as it needs, adding salt and a splash of oil… [Continue Reading]

Home Made Piss Easy Stuffing

Stuffing is a weird thing. You either stuff it into the carcass of some sort of animal or you eat it on its own. Shop-bought variants generally tend to come as a powdery state and require a ton of water to turn into something vaguely edible. Turns out though, stuffing is piss easy to make. Home Made Stuffing Ingredients About 200g of bread, preferably something crusty and thick. Slightly old, stale bread is fine if that’s all you have. 1 large onion 1-3 sticks of celery 200g cabbage 1 tablespoon of sage 1 tablespoon of cooking oil (vegetable, sunflower, olive)… [Continue Reading]

Dawnguard Snipin’ – Part 4

You know what’s bloody depressing? A purple, agony-filled hell-hole. But that’s where I currently am, after the events from last time round. I gotta go and find bitchy vampire girl’s mummy in this nasty place. Alright, let’s get this over with. Huh, this place is creepy. And purple. I suppose it’s as good a place as any to hide from some crazy vampire guy. There are weird glowing things dotted around the landscape, but I have no idea what any of them do. Jumped into one, nothing happened. Like, at all. They just look pretty. There’s a bunch of random… [Continue Reading]
