Legends of Equestria Open Server Weekend August 8-10

Hi all! Just thought I’d take a chance to let you know that a fanmade MMO I work for, Legends of Equestria, is having an Open Server Weekend right now, where you can play it and try it out!

Set in the world of Equestria, you first get to make your own pony through an intensive character creation system, and then you’re free to explore five different expansive regions, including starter cities for the three main species. Go on quests, purchase and wear cosmetics, and even adopt pets! I’m one of the writers, and I’m really proud of all the content we’ve added so far for players to do. My favorite quest comes from a grizzled aviator who recounts his backstory inspired by “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.”

The game certainly isn’t done yet and if you like what you see, know that big things are still coming on the horizon. The game is (and always will be) completely free, and we’ve got over a thousand players on the servers right now!

Also, if you’re wondering how this is SPUF-related, visit Cloudopolis and you can talk to this NPC:

Spuffy

He’d be happy to share with you his opinions on the weapons in the game, as well as the relationships between races (he thinks unicorns are overpowered). See you there!

I write articles! I also make games, release videos, voice act and lots of other cool things.

I see this thing always getting mentioned about “Free weekends”. I always assumed it was a pay to play game, otherwise why the free weekends? Now I see otherwise. Does the real SPUF know we have a coloured horse version that complai- TALKS about weapons?

You should write an article about the game and what you have done for, would be interesting. Might even play it if you wrote a questline or something.

I’ve written many of the quests and NPCs in the game. We call it an ‘open server weekend’ not to highlight the fact that it’s free (we could never charge anyway, it’s not entirely our intellectual copyright), but because the game is playable. At the moment, outside of open server weekends, you cannot play the game because we are still developing it at a core level.
