Hello 2017!

Oh look! It’s 2017! 2016 has finally buggered off! Yay! Confetti! Balloons! Celebrations! People walking home all tired and drunk because they stayed up too late last night! Even more people sleeping in because of late night partying! And a bunch of people just living out their lives and not caring.

I’m in the latter group. I’m a boring person who doesn’t smoke, drink, take drugs, gamble or do anything interesting. The biggest risk I’ve made recently was charging my laptop for five minutes at 9pm so I could finish a mission and I managed to lose. Hence why I’m actually writing this on the 31st on my phone. That’s fine. I’ve already made my new year’s resolutions and will probably fail them by the 3rd.

As you can tell, I am not exactly brimming with optimism. Quite the opposite. I’m drowning in a pool of pessimism, trying to keep my head above the water and put a smile on my face to show that I’m okay when I clearly am not.

I am genuinely sitting here, trying to think of positive things for 2017. I’m pretty much stumped. I genuinely cannot think of anything in either the long term or the short term that are positive. Unfortunately, my thoughts are constantly being interrupted by the need to blow my nose. The wonders of the human body.

Ah, listen to me ramble. So pathetic. I’m sorry I keep on doing this to you all. You don’t need to hear me talk about my crappy life. That’s not why you’re here. You’re here to read about Team Fortress 2 and other video games. Well, it’s more Warframe, Skyrim and whatever aabicus and co. are playing lately, but you get what I mean. You’re here for video game articles. And articles for nude mods for video games, if our page stats are anything to go by.

So here is my promise to you all. My new year’s resolution. And unlike my normal resolutions, I’ll actually keep this one. (Although, to be fair, I did keep one of my resolutions last year…)

I’m going to stop complaining about my life on this blog. It will go back to being only video games. Or maybe the odd article about chinese food, if aabicus discovers any good offers. But that will be it. No more Medic personal stuff. That’s gone.

From now on, you will get your video game article a day, no matter what. One a day, every single day. And none of it will be personal stuff. Unless I happen to write about my favourite Pokemon, same way aabicus has. You know, personal gaming things. Oh and of course I’ll write about Cyprus Comic Con like I did last year. 2017’s costumes for CCC are going to be crazy. But otherwise, all the personal stuff is 100% gone.

That is all on top of our usual promise of an article a day. But I don’t need to remind you of that again.

Anyway, here’s to a good 2017. The end of the world is on its way, but at least we can have some fun in the mean time.

Χρόνια πολλά, many years to you all!

Medic, also known as Phovos (or occasionally Dr Retvik Von Scribblesalot), writes 50% of all the articles on the Daily SPUF since she doesn't have anything better to do. A dedicated Medic main in Team Fortress 2 and an avid speedster in Warframe, Phovos has the unique skill of writing 500 words about very little in a very short space of time.
