I Like Disruption Now

Alright, so I never liked Disruption as a game mode. I found it annoying and tedious and I never enjoyed it, despite Disruption being one of the fairer game modes out there. And with Disruption being the main focus of the Dante Unbound update, I kinda wasn’t looking forward to playing it and grinding forever to get Dante. Luckily, some changes were made to make things easier.

Now, Disruption is pretty simple. It’s described as “defending some conduits to get rewards” but it’s way, way faster than mobile defense. You kill a bunch of enemies until one of them drops a key, you pick up the key and slot it in the matching conduit, you kill the monster that spawns to destroy the conduit, you do this four times per round and get rewards depending on how many conduits survive. You only need one conduit to survive per round, and you can extract after the first four conduits have been opened. Weirdly, unlike every single other game mode, Disruption’s reward rotation goes ABCCCC, instead of repeating potential rewards every 5 rounds. Meaning that, as long as none of the conduits get blown up, you ALWAYS get the better rewards.

Really, there were two major things that put me off. Firstly, it’s how tanky the Demolysts can get, for no real reason, while at the same time nullifying almost all Warframe abilities. Okay, sure, they’re supposed to be a challenge, but Grineer demolysts in particular are just walls of meat that feel like they take forever to kill, even with a half-decent weapon. In Entrati Disruption, the toughness is still there, but the enemies are Nechramechs (Either Voidrigs or Bonewidows) and while, yes, they have damage-reducing attacks and will charge forward, you can still shoot through them and they don’t just go “lol nope no abilities for you”.

The other thing that I always hated was the beeping. Maybe I’m just dumb but I am always way too slow when it comes to working out where the beeping is coming from. But that was the only real way to find a Demolyst, and it was very easy to just, well, run in the wrong direction, because a Demolyst would spawn in one of multiple predetermined spots. But with the Dante Unbound update, there is now an Exterminate-mission-like icon that appears near the Demolyst when it spawns, and the icon remains permanent as long as some is vaguely looking in the right direction. This really reduces the time during which I look like an idiot and I can just run straight to the enemy and kill them.

On top of that, unlike other Disruption missions, Entrati Disruption drops a currency, which can be traded to Loid for Dante components, in case you get really unlucky. Which makes him way easier to farm than Gauss was.

Another small annoyance is that keys sometimes just refuse to drop. So Entrati Disruption adds enemies that spawn and are guaranteed to drop keys if none have spawned in a while. Which is nice. There’s also some lore in Entrati Disruption about helping Drussus, the guy who runs the Leverian and kinda sold it to Parvos because he’s stupid, but honestly, it’s pretty easy to ignore.

But yeah, I’ve actually enjoyed farming for Dante. Meanwhile, I still don’t have Qorvex, and it’s going to be a while before I can get him because I spent all my Entrati Langthorns on Dante…
