FAQ

Q: What is this?
A: It’s a blog. For SPUF. Mostly about Team Fortress 2 and other video games, including Warframe, PAYDAY, Left 4 Dead, League of Legends, Overwatch and Paladins.

Q: What’s SPUF?
A: The Steam Powered User Forums, which, as the name would suggest, runs entirely off of electricity and doesn’t have any users except in the TF2 section. There’s rumors of people alive in the Off Topic section, but we recommend avoiding that place. At least as far as I’m aware. And how did you get here if you don’t know what SPUF is? As of June 5th 2017, Valve removed the Steam Powered User Forums and now all links redirect to Steam User Discussions, a far inferior site. Remaining SPUFers scattered to the winds, but the Daily SPUF keeps on churning. A small community remains on subSPUF and in various Steam groups, such as TIAM.

Q: How did I get here?
A: Clearly, you clicked on some sort of hypertext link to get here. You may have been linked here from your search engine, from the Steam Powered User Forums or the Daily SPUF thread on said forums. You may have also been shown articles by people on Steam or spotted one of our articles on Reddit. Or maybe you used a search engine like Google. Or you came here via subSPUF.

Q: What is this blog for?
A: This is a blog where the members of SPUF can get their TF2 rants published as proper articles, rather than having them ignored or picked to death by other rabid SPUFers. Over the years, the Daily SPUF has grown and expanded into a daily article site covering a range of various video games. We also occasionally do contests and competitions, as well as posting various off topic things like free game announcements and how to cook nice things.

Q: How do I post on this blog?
A: All the info on how to contribute is, uh, on the How To Contribute page.

Q: I don’t see any adverts around here! What’s the catch?
A: There’s no catch. We used to have adverts but they earned us $5 over two years. Instead, the editors pay for the site themselves and decided to get rid of adverts completely. As long as we can pay for the site ourselves, there won’t be any adverts. You are all free to browse the Daily SPUF as much as you like, for zero cost.

Q: Why do we need this when we already have a SPUF thread for blog posts?
A: Really, this question is kinda moot since the Steam Powered User Forums no longer exist. But originally, the SPUF threads kept on getting deleted because moderators hate fun and community and would rather we all post in the cesspool that is Off Topic. No offense, but your post counts never went up there and they all had a freakish amount of rep. The Daily SPUF is an actual blog, with daily articles about everyone’s favorite war-themed hat simulator and other video games, including but not limited to: Fallout, Skyrim, League of Legends, Overwatch, Payday, Left 4 Dead, Warframe, Paladins, Dota 2 and Team Fortress Classic.

Q: Do the views and opinions expressed in a given blog post necessarily reflect those of the Steam Powered User Forum, subSPUF or the Daily SPUF in general?
A: No, just the author of said post. Thank you for your oddly specific and conveniently worded question.

Q: A picture I made/A link to work of mine/Something I own has been used on The Daily SPUF and I didn’t give permission. How can I get it removed?
A: If you wish something you own removed from The Daily SPUF (or if you are not credited and simply desire proper recognition), contact us by adding either Medic or aabicus on Steam or by posting in the thread on SPUF and explaining the situation. We will work with you to rectify the problem as quickly as we can. Note that if you submitted an article to The Daily SPUF and marked it “Pending”, that is considered giving express permission to publish the article with credit, and we may not remove it without further justification. You can also use the form below to contact us and we’ll get in touch as soon as possible.
