Medic Week and other Announcements

Oh hey, Medic is saying stuff again! This is just a little blog post to announce a few things, related to the site and logging in and a little mini-event and things like that. It’s boiling hot right now and so much stuff has broken or fallen apart or needed fixing that I’m losing my mind a bit, so this will seem a little blog-post-y. More itsurblog and Hello! than informative Daily SPUF stuff. Oh well.

Anyway.

You may have noticed that the Unofficial SPUF Network login button has been missing. I don’t know why it’s broken, and tsc has set the site up in a really weird way, meaning I can’t just turn on “Anyone can Register”. So no one can make a new account except for me currently. If you want to continue logging in to the Daily SPUF to write articles, could you please PM me on SPUF, or message me on Steam with your username on the Daily SPUF. I’ll send you a password and you will be able to log in. I recommend changing your password straight away when you do log in, which you can do via your profile. Everything will work as normal, you just use your username and new password to log in, rather than using the unofficial SPUF network.

Until things are more back to normal though, I’ll be doing the brunt of the article work. Aabicus is busy job hunting and we only really have SilverWolf and DisguisedCyclone writing the occasional article (for which I thank you both). So for the next week or so, we’re going to have a little mini event.

I call it Medic Week. Because I’m Medic. And I’ll be the author of every single article published next week. From today, Sunday 3rd, to Sunday 10th July. Now, because I’ve written about the TF2 Medic to death and back, this week will be different from normal article scheduling. Unless the ‘Neato’ update comes in the middle of next week (which, knowing my luck, it will), all of next week’s articles will be a bit different in some way.

Is there anything involved for you lot? Kinda. If anyone writes an article about TF2 Medics and puts it in the Pending section before Sunday 10th, they’ll win a small prize. Not sure what the prize will be, but it’ll most likely be some form of Medi Gun.

Finally, I’ve got a small favor to ask of our readers. Views for the Daily SPUF have been down for a bit, because aabicus and I have been busy with real life stuff. All I ask is that you share the Daily SPUF around a bit. Share the odd article on SCUD/Reddit/whatever, like our Facebook page (yes, we have one), subscribe for emails, send an article to your friend in order to prove that he’s wrong about Demomen with the Sticky Jumper being useless, whatever. We’ll continue producing content as always, I’d just like it if you shared the love a little.

As always, thank you all for reading. And apologies in advance for the more random nature of next week’s set of article.
