Retvik’s Top 5 Favourite Secondary Weapons in Warframe

Secondary weapons in Warframe are kinda odd. On the one hand, they are much smaller than primary weapons. But secondary weapons are also a tad more… gimmicky. Because secondary weapons are smaller, and simpler to use, you end up getting a LOT of variance. On top of that, we have a lot of akimbo, double gun options, which Primaries have no access to.

And, amusingly, secondary weapons can often be more powerful than primary weapons. But that’s a discussion for another time. Anyway, here are my top five Warframe secondary weapons.

Kuva Twin Stubbas

I like guns that go daka daka. It’s why the Supra Vandal is special to me. The Kuva Twin Stubbers go in a slightly different direction, being a Kuva variant of a gun that isn’t normally akimbo. Many other pistols and single forms and twin forms, but for some reason there’s no Twin Stubbas, only Kuva Twin Stubbas.

Either way, the Kuva Twin Stubbas are cool. And they’re even cooler with a riven mod. The Kuva Twin Stubbas spew out a lot of bullets and cause a lot of death, but they’re not the only twin weapon here.

Twin Grakatas

I did up the saturation on this picture in Captura, but eh, still looks nice.
Twin Grakatas

It’s not always the case that two guns are better than one. There’s normally some sort of downside to using two guns at once. However, for the Twin Grakatas, any potential downsides are overcome by how awesome using two normal Grakatas at once is.

Honestly, there’s very little to say here. The Twin Grakatas are so cool that I feel unworthy of writing about them.

Kuva Nukor

The Kuva Nukor HAS to be on this list. While, yes, it did get nerfed, it’s still amazing. Not only is the Kuva Nukor amazing for Condition Overload builds and the new Arbitration mods, but the Nukor can kill many things with ease. The Tenet Cyclon works similarly and does have infinite ammo, but the Kuva Nukor came first, and it can easily melt many an enemy. The Kuva Nuka though is happy to share its damage, and as you hit one enemy, two sub-beams appear and strike two nearby enemies.

Even better though, the Kuva Nukor can be given to your On Call railjack crew, and, depending on what level a mission is, they can cause chaos.

Either way, unlike many weapons, the Kuva Nukor certainly does deserve the five Forma I put in mine.

Pox

The Pox are absolutely disgusting. They’re literally just little blobs of infested goop. You don’t get many of them, and each Pox projectile creates a small cloud of fart gas.

Yet for some reason, I find the Pox hilarious. It’s fun to make fart clouds anywhere. Unfortunately, the Pox are overshadowed by the Mutalist Cernos, but they’re still amusing. If a bit gross.

Sonicor

It's quite hard to capture how awesome the Sonicor is in screenshots
Boom!

One of the very early weapons I got my hands on in Warframe was the Sonicor. It didn’t feel anything like the standard guns I was using at the time. But more importantly, it sent enemies far away, causing many a concussion. Alongside my newly obtained Ignis, I

However, the Sonicor is no longer what it used to be. It no longer flings enemies across the map. The Sonicor’s days of being the head of the Tenno Space Program are gone. And it’s a crying shame, because we have much bigger maps, so we never got to really test how far the Sonicor could go. And, unfortunately, Blast damage no longer ragdolls enemies, it just, well, reduces their accuracy a tiny bit.

Between Blast damage and the Sonicor’s nerfs, both of them are in a bad place right now. One day though, I hope to have both of them back.

So there we have it. My favorite secondaries. While not all these weapons are as powerful as each other, they have all given me hours and hours of entertainment. I can’t complain about that. Well, except for the Sonicor. Please bring back the Tenno Space Program!
