Taking a Break from Warframe

After 4000 hours, countless articles and years of running around as a bright yellow Volt, I finally think it’s time I took a proper break from Warframe. Now, normally, I wouldn’t bother telling anyone that I am taking a break, but we get a lot of traffic here on the Daily SPUF that is Warframe-related and normally somewhat up to date. If I’m not playing Warframe though, I can’t be up to date.

So I think it’s worth announcing.

But anyway, I don’t know how long I won’t be playing for, probably just for a month or so. However I do know why I am taking a break. Frankly? I haven’t enjoyed much of Warframe’s new content. The New War was a bit of a flop in my eyes, very clearly rushed and unfinished. And Angels of the Zariman (the latest update as of writing) has unsettled my stomach too. For a game called Warframe, Warframes have very much been missing in action. It’s all been about the Drifter and the Operator, and I am not enjoying it at all. I also am a bit annoyed that I ordered a True Master pin badge and it has essentially vanished from the post system, but that’s kinda not really Warframe’s fault.

All that being said, I’m still happy to log into Warframe and give out Ignis Wraith blueprints and things like that, and I’m also perfectly happy to play with readers, if anyone does want me to play with them. I’ll never be permanently gone from Warframe, it’s just a break. What I’m mostly waiting for is for Crossplay to come out, so I can play with more people, but Crossplay is probably still miles away. Like, late-2023-levels of away.

Honestly, me saying all this feels a bit egotistical of me. Oh well.

So what will I be playing in the mean time? Well, Destiny 2 seems to be taking up more of my time. I’ve reached the point where I do kinda understand a lot of things, and am a lot less useless on my own. There’s also an absolute fuckton of stuff to do. As of writing, a new season is just about to start, and there are tons and tons of different activities and events and the like for me to play. And, of course, I’ll still be playing Pokemon GO. But that game too is kinda starting to get boring. Despite there being a new event pretty much every week, it gets annoying and paradoxically dull at the same time.

When it comes to Destiny 2 though, there’s also a lot for me to learn. Unlike Warframe, where I’m a (vaguely) high skilled player with a ton of experience, I’m still pretty much a noob in Destiny 2, and I want to change that. So while I’ll probably not be making any guides or anything for Destiny 2, I’ll probably end up writing about whatever new thing I’ve just learned.

Aside from that though, there’s not much else on the horizon. Sea of Thieves is fun but I don’t play it regularly, and I’d kinda like friends to play Risk of Rain 2 with. Either way though, I’m going to still be writing articles, they’ll just be a bit different.
