Just Some More Cool Small Youtube Channels that I’d Like to Recommend

A while back, due to writers’ block, I recommended a bunch of Youtube channels. The idea was to showcase smaller channels because, frankly, my recommendation feed from Youtube is too busy. Youtube always wants to recommend channels with huge numbers of viewers. Sometimes though, a smaller channel will slip through. And sometimes these channels catch my eye.

Learning Curve

The first channel I’d like to recommend is Learning Curve. On this channel, we are treated to various interesting science topics, such as Brown Dwarf stars, the biology of bees and strange paradoxes. Oddly enough, this channel is quite new to me, and only appeared on my recommendation feeds after I watched an old VSauce video about black holes. Learning Curve is a gentle science channel, going over all sorts of science-y things in a calm manner, offering some simple understanding when it comes to the universe.

I did originally think the channel was dead, but the guy is still making content. His most recent video was 9 days ago, as of writing. We can always do with more science channels, and Learning Curve probably deserves some more views.

WILTY? Nope!

Would I Lie To You is a UK panel show which regularly features comedians. Back when I started watching Taskmaster, I started seeing these videos made by a channel called WILTY? Nope! which I assumed was an actual official channel or something. I quite like the show Would I Lie To You, so I happily started watching.

Turns out, it’s an unofficial channel. One single person has built a massive collection of best bits, single anecdotes and more. It may not BE official, but, in comparison to the Taskmaster channel, it’s all in equal quality. Sure, there aren’t any full episodes on the channel, but there are enough snippets to make your own full episodes. I also like how sometimes they showcase one particular participant, showing off their lying skills.

TheZZAZZGlitch

This channel is pretty weird, but it’s also about Pokemon. More importantly, TheZZAZZGlitch looks at all the weird ways that the original Pokemon games could be twisted and bent out of shape, while at the same time researching into how the early games had so many secrets and shortcuts. I think the best way to describe TheZZAZZGlitch is in the same manner that you dissect a frog. Except, in this case, the frog keeps on trying to continue functioning when it should have been dead ages ago. The amount of glitching and black magic hackery that goes into these games is insane.

Heck, TheZZAZZGlitch managed to write some code INSIDE Pokemon red that allowed it to instantly complete a Mario game and show the credits. They’ve also done challenge runs, trying to finish the first Pokemon games in as few A presses as possible.

Robin Atkin Downes

It’s literally the guy who voices Team Fortress 2’s Medic. But there’s something charming about how he brought the other TF2 voice actors together. Despite his difficulty getting streams to work, Robin Atkin Downes does treat his fans well. What I find most amusing though is how much fun Robin has while doing Medic’s voice. He really, really gets into the role and has been a gem for TF2 players and Source Film Maker users for years.

It also turns out that Robin has voiced hundreds of other characters, and occasionally does weird videos with them. The one that surprised me was Travis Touchdown, from No More Heroes, but Robin also does one of the male player voices in the Saints Row series.

Game Sack

There’s so many gaming channels out there that it’s hard to make a choice on who to watch. There’s also a massive amount of retro gaming channels. However, one of my favourite retro gam channels is Game Sack. Joe Redifer hosts Game Sack and is a fun and enjoyable presenter. What I like most about Game Sack though is that Joe isn’t an amazing player, most of his footage is average and he’ll happily admit that he’s not very good at many of these Ninitendo-hard games. There’s a lot of honesty in Game Sack and I love it.

And there’s the ending sketches. Each episode has some sort of amusing sketch at the end, a bit like an end-credits scene from a Marvel movie. But Joe puts a ton of effort into these and they’re always great.

Anyway, there’s some new videos for you all to watch. Enjoy.
