Five Warframes You Should Definitely Try in 2023
There are way over 50 Warframes in Warframe now. With so many to choose from, it’s hard to decide where to start. Luckily, here’s a small selection of genuinely great Warframes that you should definitely try.
Citrine
Citrine is a pretty new frame, obtained by playing the Mirror Defense mission on Mars. She’s easy to get and she’s actually a damn good frame. Citrine’s abilities give her both damage and protection, as she can passively heal you, grant you damage reduction and give you a large chunk of status chance. Her little crystal turret is cool as well. She does take a little getting to used to, but Citrine is worth it.
Really, the only thing that’s not appealing is her looks. After all, she is basically a human geode, and those crystals go all the way down to between her legs. Or her gemussy, which Red Text once used to describe her.
Titania
I forget how old a player I am sometimes, because I still think that Titania isn’t that old of a Warframe. Except it was the Warframe that was released when I properly started playing Warframe. The deadly pixie has a unique set of abilities, combining crowd control, weird buffs and the ability to shrink down and fly, all into one Warframe. Really, the shrinking into a pixie is the most powerful part of Titania’s kit. I mean, you shrink down and gain two mini-guns as your weapons, allowing you to annihilate pretty much everything in front of you, while also being too small to hit.
The only downside to Titania is the terrain. Mainly doors. Her flight speed is pretty high, so slamming into doors is quite common.
Wukong
Wukong is a great frame. Despite having recently been nerfed, Wukong still definitely holds his own. You can’t really go wrong with summoning a clone that fights for you and has way more health than you do. Sure, the Celestial Twin does use ammo now, but you can fix that by giving the twin a gun that doesn’t use ammo.
Alternatively, have your Celestial Twin go melee. Clones aside though, the rest of Wukong’s kit is still amazing. You essentially get 360 degree movement while being invulnerable in a cloud, and you can give yourself massive amounts of armour with ease. Sure, his exalted stick isn’t very good, but it does the job, I guess.
Wukong is also super easy to obtain. You just buy the pieces in the Tenno lab of a clan dojo and build them in your foundry. Piece of cake.
Styanax
In celebration of the 50th Warframe, Styanax, the 50th Warframe, was release for free to all players. All you had to do was log in during a special week and a Styanax would be delivered to your Inventory, complete with Warframe slot and a potato already installed. I took my Styanax and leveled it up straight away. Personally, I really like Styanax because he’s a bit of a jack of all trades. He can stab things, strip armour from enemies and buff his team mates.
If you missed Styanax, you can get his components via Kahl and Veilbreaker missions. Which is pretty tedious. But it is a good frame. Not the most powerful on this list, but still fun to play.
Revenant
Overall though, the Warframe you should REALLY try is Revenant. This guy has it all. He’s got a nice spinning nuke and is nigh untouchable thanks to Mesmer Skin. He can also easily turn enemies into Thralls as a distraction, and dash through enemies while being invulnerable. This makes Revenant extremely powerful, especially since Mesmer Skin also puts enemies to sleep – it’s basically a better version of Rhino’s Iron Skin. Being one of two Sentient/Warframe hybrids, Revenant has eerie flaming skin and looks awesome, being partly based off an Eidolon. He comes with his own quest, but requires standing from the Quills. Luckily, he is also available as a Circuit reward, so you can quite easily get this beast of a Warframe.
Bonus number 6: Volt
Of course I’m going to recommend Volt. He’s a jack of all trades that can be used for all sorts of shenanigans. I’ve gone on about Volt plenty though, so I’m not going to torture you with stuff you already know. That being said, if you’re just starting Warframe, I actually recommend Excalibur over Volt, simply because Excalibur is easier to use.
So yeah, there’s a bunch of Warframes you should try in 2023. Give them a go, they’re all fun.
