“Once Safer Seas comes out, will you ever play High Seas again?”

Sometimes, asking questions is a good thing. Forums and sites like Reddit and Discord can give you all sorts of information if you ask a good question. The other day, I had a question of my own. After reading a post in r/seaofthieves with the announcement of Safer Seas, I was curious on how many people would remain in Safer Seas and whether they’d return to High Seas once they’d reached their goals. So I basically just went ahead and asked the question. “Once Safer Seas comes out, will you ever play High Seas again?” I got a LOT of… [Continue Reading]

A Weird Halloween Two-Parter

Every game right now is having its Halloween event. Halloween is a massive holiday in gaming, even if you don’t live in the US, Canada or Europe. Which is nice because, where I live, we don’t really celebrate Halloween. However, Pokemon GO is having a weird two-part event for Halloween. Halloween part 1 and Halloween part 2. So far, we’ve just been given Halloween part 1. However, there’s not really much in it. It’s mostly just a bunch of ghost type Pokemon, and the return of the Halloween map from last year. Although I noticed that, during the day, the… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon That Should Always Be Available

These days, most research tasks that ask you to catch Pokemon generally have a wide variety to catch. You’ll see tasks like “catch X fire type Pokemon” for example. During the Paldea event though, we had a “Catch 15 Nymble” challenge for some star dust. That research task was a bit odd, especially since it was just a normal research task. In special research tasks though, having to catch a specific Pokemon is a more common task. For example, for the Meltan special research, you need to catch some Gulpin and Slugma, because they are rather liquid-y, the same way… [Continue Reading]

On Catching 100 Different Species of Pokemon

In both the Paldean Adventure special research and the Master Ball timed research, there is a particular task that I thought would be quite difficult. The task is to catch 100 different species of Pokemon. Now, I originally assumed that this task would be difficult. After all, most events only spawn like 5-6 different Pokemon, and the time between events, the spawns aren’t much better. However, I got this research task for A Paldean Adventure only a few days ago (at the time of writing) and I’ve somehow pretty much finished it. And this was just after the Psychic Spectacular… [Continue Reading]

My First Zygarde Cell

Zygarde is a Pokemon with multiple forms. It starts off as a single cell, it grows into a dog, it then evolves into a draconic snake, before changing into its 100% form, which looks like some cool humanoid monster with tassles. In Pokemon GO, while we don’t get the single cell form, the A to Zygarde research gives us a 10% Zygarde, the little doggy form. In order to evolve it, we needs Zygarde Cells, which we catch in a Zygarde Cube. But this process is… tedious. To evolve your Zygarde 10% into a Zygarde 50%, you need 50 Zygarde… [Continue Reading]

Timburr Community Day

Fighting type Pokemon are very valuable when it comes to raiding and PvP. There’s a lot of stuff weak to fighting, so you need a good team. So Timburr Community Day was a good chance to stock up on some good fighting types. Ranked pretty near at the top, this fighting type is a perfect candidate for any fighting-based raid. So it was definitely worth doing. Especially with the double candy and double stardust bonuses. Conkeldurr, the final evolution of Timburr, is a pure fighting type Pokemon. It’s nearly as strong as Lucario and Terrakion, while also a bit more… [Continue Reading]

A Biased Opinion on the Seas

The other day, I wrote an article about Safer Seas, the new mode that is coming to Sea of Thieves in December, as part of Season 10. The whole idea behind Safer Seas is that you can sail alone, with a crew, and not be disrupted by anyone. It’s basically a temporary private server for you and your friends. Now, when I wrote this article, I was kinda against the whole idea, fearing that it might suck the life out of playing the normal game mode. I’ve noticed this on other articles as well, and I think I have a… [Continue Reading]

On Creating A Route

A while ago, I made a route in Pokemon GO. However, it never appeared in-game, and appears to be stuck in limbo. So, the other day, I gave up on ever seeing that route, and decided to make another one. I could have done this sooner, but for a long time, I was experiencing crashes when trying to start the route creation process, so I basically gave up. However, in the mean time, there had been multiple bug fixes, so I decided to try again. The route I decided to make was around my local park. It’s not a very… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on Safer Seas

In Season 10, Sea of Thieves is introducing a new game mode. Coming in December 2023, we will gain access to Safer Seas, which works similarly to sailing the normal High Seas, except it’s your own private instance. Basically, by playing Safer Seas, you can explore the Sea of Thieves with your crew and no one else. It’s basically a private server, although you still need to be connected to the internet. However, despite containing the entirety of the Sea of Thieves, playing Safer Seas has some downsides. The most noticeable change is that you earn 70% less gold. While… [Continue Reading]

Always There For You To Play

There’s something odd about Team Fortress 2. There’s something about it that kinda draws me back, but also doesn’t actually mind if I don’t play. Somehow, Team Fortress 2 is just always there, sitting in the background, waiting to be played, no matter what. Okay, let me try to explain. Team Fortress 2 exists in some sort of stasis. You can drop Team Fortress 2, stop playing it completely, for years, only to come back and still be able to jump back in and play again. Sure, things aren’t exactly the same as they used to be. After all, there’s… [Continue Reading]
