Shiny Pokemon I Want But Still Don’t Have

Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO are more common than they are in other Pokemon games, except maybe in Scarlet and Violet, where you can just eat sandwiches that increase the chance of having shiny Pokemon pop up around you. But despite me having played Pokemon GO for years, there are plenty of Pokemon that are missing from my shiny collection. Here’s just a few of them.

Slugma

I don’t really know why I want a shiny Slugma. It’s a really interesting shiny that goes light grey. Weirdly, its evolution, Magcargo (which is a pretty crap name for a lava snail – and slugs and snails are different species!) goes bright pink (more of a magenta), which is kinda weird since it’s a fire type and those normally go for a black or orange colour. Still, I really do like that grey colour. What surprises me more though is that I still don’t have one, despite Slugma having been a common trash spawn for years.

Kanto Rattata

This is a weird one because I don’t specifically want a shiny Kanto Rattata for me. I want it in case aabicus and I ever manage to get within 100m of each other, enough to be able to do the Lucky Trade we’ve been stuck with for over three years. Rattata is aabicus’s favourite Pokemon, and I’d love to be able to give him a lucky, shiny one. While I do have a shiny Alolan Rattata, it’d be nice to have the Kanto one as well, even if I plan on giving it away.

No, neither of us plan on spoofing in order to complete our Lucky Trade. Don’t even know how to.

Xerneas

Xerneas is probably one of my favourite shiny Legendaries, and actually has some sort of sentimental value to me, despite me never having played Pokemon X and Y. It was in fact one of the Pokemon I regularly used whenever I played Pixelmon, mostly because my one had weird moves that made no sense, and also happened to be shiny. Unfortunately, updates meant that the Xerneas lost its special moves, and not soon after I managed to finish the Pokedex, I lost interest in the game.

However, I still want one in Pokemon GO. When it first came out in raids, I went hard for it, spending all my poke coins on raid passes. I did eventually get a shiny… on my second account. I’m patiently waiting for a Lucky Trade so I can finally get it, but it’s been months and I’m still waiting.

Tropius

Tropius is basically the only regional Pokemon Cyprus has, and it’s also a pretty damn nice shiny. Like a lot of grass type shiny Pokemon, Tropius gets an autumn-like colour scheme. If you’ve seen shiny Chikorita, then you’ve seen a lot of grass type shinies. But Tropius is worth the hunt because it’s a cool flying banana leaf dragon thing. The shiny though is pretty new, so I haven’t really had many chances to get it. Unfortunately though, the chances to actually hunt for a shiny Tropius are always low, because there’s always an event going on, and Tropius normally only really spawns between events.

More Shadow Shinies

Considering how many Team Rocket grunts and leaders I have fought, it’s amazing that I have so few shadow shinies. Sure, I managed to get a shiny Beldum, but that was literally nearly 3 years ago. In fact, I only have 11 shiny shadow Pokemon, and two of them – Growlithe and Scyther – are duplicates. Meanwhile, I did like 5 shadow Articuno raids when it was around, and brother managed to get 2 shinies. My shiny legendary Pokemon luck is already bad (just look at Xerneas) but my shadow luck is honestly way worse. There’s not really any particular shadow shiny I want, but Dratini would be nice.

That’s it for me for now. I wish you all better shiny luck than me!
