Operation Gargoyle’s Cry is Simple But Great

Clan events aren’t particularly common, but Whispers in the Walls has introduced Operation Gargoyle’s Cry, a new event where there is some clan participation required. Fibonacci has had the great idea of using clan dojos to set up a surveillance system across local space, in order to better track the Murmur. However, some miscalculations mean that the Murmur are also getting some sort of vision, and Fibonacci needs us to murder some Fragmented Ones in order to re-calibrate his magical Jahu Gargoyles, the devices he’s placed in our dojos in the first place.

The basis of the operation is simple. Firstly, we need to install a Jahu Gargoyle inside our clan dojo. Doing so costs Entrati Labs resources, but it only takes a minute to build. We then go to the assassination node Effervo, kill a Void Angel, collect eyes to summon a Fragmented One and murder the shit out of it. Doing so will let us collect a curse, which we can then deposit inside the Jahu Gargoyles to help Fibonacci recalculate his surveillance system. We also get Gargoyle Splinters, which we can spend at Fibonacci’s special shop that he’s set up inside the Jahu Gargoyles we have installed in our dojos. You can feed a certain amount of curses to the Gargoyle every week, and if you fill it up every week, you get a gold statue. The amount scales based on clan size, and for my level 3 clan, it was 6 of each curse, which we managed on the first day. After I kicked a bunch of VERY inactive players (people who hadn’t even logged in for over 6 months) and a friend invited some new ones.

Simple, right? And if you are feeling adventurous, you can do the Steel Path version of Effervo for additional rewards. Instead of one curse, you get two, and you get additional Gargoyle Splinters. There’s also the secret boss on the Steel Path version, which requires collecting 60 eyes instead of 30, but that doesn’t count towards additional curses or splinters.

The rewards are rather familiar though. There are some new things, such as a handful of glyphs and sigils representing the members of the Cavia, but the majority of the rewards are from previous operations. The Ceti Lacera and Basmu blueprints make a return, as do the Clan sigils, which let you place your clan logo on your Warframe’s chest or back. We have a new cosmetic too, which you can buy for one Gargoyle Splinter, but we have to unlock it first. The operation Signa, a halo cosmetic for your Warframe, requires the community to work together and kill a ton of Fragmented Ones. Once we’ve killed enough, the Signa will be available to everyone.

The biggest reward though is the return of Raid and Eidolon Arcanes. These Arcanes (which originally appeared in Law of Retribution and Jordas Verdict, Warframe’s old 8-player raids) are available to buy for varying amounts of splinters. This includes the big-name arcane Arcane Energize, which you can buy for 12 splinters each. That sounds like a lot of splinters, but if you can do Steel Path (which can be done in pubs somewhat easily), then you can quite easily get the 15 you need for a rank 5 Energize. Between Operation Gargoyle’s Cry and the ability to dissolve duplicate Arcanes via Loid and transmute them into new Arcane packs, these rare Arcanes have become a LOT more accessible.

So yeah, this operation is totally worth playing. Sure, there aren’t many unique rewards, but the accessibility of Arcanes is totally worth the grind. And the mission itself is pretty easy. Playing as a group speeds it up, but it’s only level 60. So if you can do Sorties, you can do this Operation.
