Happy New Year 2018!

Oh hey. It’s 2018. 2017 was fun and all that (depending on what country you’re in currently) but it’s time to move on and look to the future and all that. We’ve got a fresh new year ahead of us and we really shouldn’t let 2017 drag us all down. Things are going to get better!

We're still partying here in the Steam Powered User Forums!
Conga! Conga into the future!

So what does 2018 have in store for us? Games, probably. I honestly haven’t looked up any upcoming games. There’s not been much that’s interested me lately. And honestly there’s a bunch of click bait videos on Youtube that will more likely get you hyped up about new games.

Sadly, 2017 didn’t help, what with a lot of games kinda… not turning out too well. Star Wars Battlefront II was the game my Star Wars-loving brother was looking forward to but that ended up being a massive waste of space, and Destiny 2‘s problems don’t seem to have improved in any way. But we did end up with PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and the whole battle royale genre which has popped up and sucked in a huge number of players.

As for games featured here on the Daily SPUF in 2018? Again, who knows?

Team Fortress 2 looks to remain rather quiet, although we are due a Heavy update at some point. The Pyro update was very well received, Pyro’s problems weren’t all completely fixed and there’s still some lingering issues, but it does mean that a Heavy update might actually turn out alright. And considering the fact that the Second Banana turned out to be a genuinely good item, it could mean that Heavy will get some real items that are also good. Otherwise there doesn’t seem to be much else on the TF2 radar.

Warframe on the other hand, the next big thing is the Sacrifice quest. What this actually consists of, again, no one knows. While the new Warframe Khora and Damage 2.5 have been confirmed, as far as everyone’s concerned, it’ll also contain some way to obtain the famed Excalibur Umbra, the edgy alternative to the Founders Only Excalibur Prime. There is also supposed to be a new Plains of Eidolon-esque map on the way, located on Venus (and presumably with Corpus) but that’s all up in the air.

While we’re here, anyone got any new years resolutions they want to share? I mean, we’re totally going to keep on publishing a article every single day. Maybe two articles occasionally if we’re lucky. Maybe even three if a SPUF of Legend happens to pop by as well. As for personal new years resolutions, I’ll once again be attempting to lose some weight and make myself healthier and happier – really, the latter should be a resolution for everyone. After all, we all deserve to be happy.

Finally, I’ll also be continuing my 500 words a day. For 2018, I’ll still be writing articles for the Daily SPUF and the Phoviverse, although 2018 will feature less of the universal deity stuff with Kinisis, Stasis and Kairos and more ‘basic’ stuff. Perhaps with a change of main character and some nice, pleasant romance or something.

Anyway, enough of all that!

Happy 2018, everyone! Hope it’s a good one!
