2000th Article Contest Winners

I’m a pretty shitty salesman. I suck at advertising. You can tell, just by looking at how many entries we got in the 2000th Article Contest. Like, 5. It’s my fault, I didn’t really do much advertising. Couldn’t really due to being ill and depressed and having work and stuff to do. So we ended up only getting a handful of entries, which wasn’t helped due to my Reddit posts all being downvoted to heck. It’s almost as if people don’t like any sort of advertising what so ever, even if there are prizes involved. I specifically made this a screenshot contest so people wouldn’t even have to put much effort in.

But no, no one cared. Doesn’t matter.

Anyway, here’s the winners.

Achieve2Receive did exactly as his own name implies, by achieving and receiving the rewards for the PAYDAY picture. It’s a nice picture of a hideout. I’m not exactly sure where since I’ve never really played much PAYDAY. I always preferred PAYDAY 1 over PAYDAY 2 though since it’s much more L4D where enemies shoot back and far less having perks and cosmetics and stuff. Achieve2Receive though made a nice picture and won the PAYDAY category.

LordofCider wins the Warframe prize due to being the only person who bothered to submit a Warframe picture. It’s a picture of a yellow Volt though, so I really can’t complain. LordofCider’s Volt reminds me of the yellow Volt I used when I started playing with my brother and sister, using the yellows from the Easter/Halloween palettes to make a more pale yellow look rather than the bright, radioactive yellow I normally use on my own Volt. Fun fact, when you’re setting the appearance of your weapons, you can hide them from appearing unless they’re your active weapon. It’s great for when you’re using ugly stuff like Grineer weapons.

TF2 winner is of course Jua, with his amazing Source Film Maker skills. I mean, how can anyone say no to this amazing picture of aabicus’s TF2 Medic on a horse in the rain, with a badass Archimedes flying nearby and a Crusader’s Crossbow in hand to kill anyone who gets in his way? But it’s more than just that, it’s the soft lighting and the all-round feel of the picture that makes it good.

I had a feeling Jua would submit something amazing. Glad to see I was right.

So yeah, congratulations you lot. You all won some stuff related to the games that you all made pictures for. Sorry to the, like, one or two other people who entered and didn’t win anything. I’ll make it up to you all later with more articles or a story or something. Actually, I think it’s literally just two people.

Sorry. Frankly I’ve been fucking everything up lately, so this contest falling flat on its face really should be expected.

Honestly next time I’m just going to do a raffle. Everyone likes raffles and they don’t require any thought. After all, who actually wants to put effort into winning prizes?

Maybe we’ll get some bigger prizes too. Like, not game-specific ones, but actual game prizes, like Steam codes and maybe some cold, hard cash (in the form of Steam Funbucks).

I dunno, we’ll see how we go.

Medic

Medic, also known as Phovos (or occasionally Dr Retvik Von Scribblesalot), writes 50% of all the articles on the Daily SPUF since she doesn't have anything better to do. A dedicated Medic main in Team Fortress 2 and an avid speedster in Warframe, Phovos has the unique skill of writing 500 words about very little in a very short space of time.

Oh I will, keeping this blog up is part of my destiny now. But don’t worry about prizes, I’ve got a Brother’s Secret Humble Bundle Code Stash that I can go through if I ever need prizes.

I’m also more the happy to donate humble gifts to the cause. I have a stash I don’t know what to do with anymore!

Well, when we get to the 3000th article (which is just under 3 years away), you can donate them then.
