5 More Places to Farm Affinity and Experience in Warframe
While I’ve talked about the best Affinity and experience farms in Warframe before, it’s always good to have options. After all, there is only so much time you can spend on Hydron. Sometimes you just need a break, a chance to do something different. We have so many items in Warframe to level up. The grind is now bigger than ever, especially since we have a ton of new 5-forma-required weapons.
Here are some slightly less effective but still good Affinity farms, in cause you get bored.
Spy Missions
For low level players, places like Hydron and Railjack might seem a little overwhelming. In fact, a lot of missions are somewhat overwhelming. However, there is still a place where you can farm some affinity, as well as some nice loot.
Spy missions reward a chunk of affinity for each vault you hack into. It’s not a lot of affinity, but it’s a lot better than other low level missions. You can also take your time with Spy missions, slowly going around and methodically killing everyone. But at the same time, not only are you earning affinity, but you can also better learn the vaults to hack into them more easily, and you get rewarded. Cold and Heat status mods are common rewards from Spy missions, as well as relics and crucial parts for Ivara.
Steel Path
On the complete opposite end of the difficulty scale, Steel Path missions will definitely give some great experience. All enemies in Steel Path missions are over level 100, which is already a boost to experience. However, Steel Path also has more enemies overall, as well as increased resource drops. You can also double up with Steel Path missions. Just do Hydron or Helene on Steel Path for lots of extra affinity.
The only downside is that Steel Path is not at all friendly to newbies. The increased armour and shields mean you can’t take low-leveled gear with you, you NEED something to be able to kill enemies.
Orphix Missions in Railjack
In the previous article for affinity farms, I mentioned that I kinda missed my chance when it came to Orphix missions. Many of the more hardcore players I know did a lot of Orphix Venom to simply level up their Necramechs. The event was a grind, and we only just managed to get the gold clan trophy for the event.
The good news though? Orphix missions are back! There are several Orphix nodes in Railjack which work in exactly the same way Orphix Venom did. So now we have a somewhat dedicated way to level up Necramechs. The mission is a bit of a chore if you don’t have a maxed out Necramech, but it is pretty much the only place where you can reliably level them up.
If you don’t like the Railjack part of Orphix missions, then your best bet is the Orb Vallis. Simply go to one of the three areas that drop Torids and go ham. It does take longer to max out a Necramech on the Orb Vallis, but at least you are constantly getting more enemies.
Long Axi Fissure Survival Missions
Eventually, if you stay in a mission for long enough, you do start getting good experience. Void Fissures are one of the few endless missions that people actually want to do, and, after a while, the experience gains do start to add up. This is improved further by the relic-opening system on endless Void Fissures. Every rotation, you get a small affinity, resource or credit booster on top of what your relic rewards.
Combined with the generally higher enemy levels in Axi fissures, you can kill two birds with one stone by opening relics and gaining affinity.
Eximus Sortie Missions
Normally, Sorties don’t give that much experience. Most people will race through them to get to the reward at the end. With missions often passing by as quick as possible, that leaves no time to get experience from higher level enemies. However, there’s an exception to this. Eximus Sortie missions are secretly amazing when it comes to farming affinity. An Eximus unit is harder to kill but they give so much more experience compared to normal enemies. And in Eximus Sorties, pretty much every other enemy is an Eximus unit.
Bonus: Double-dipping on Affinity Boosters
To make life even easier, you can get Affinity Boosters. These are generally log-in rewards, sortie rewards or the occasional Warframe event. However, you can somewhat stack affinity boosters to squeeze even more out of your missions. While affinity weekends are very rare, you can get x4 experience during them if you have an affinity booster alongside the event one.
But there is one sneaky way to get even more affinity. True Master Tenno have the ability to bless a relay once a day with a 25% booster, and one of those is affinity. So it’s worth popping by relays in case a True Master Tenno uses one of their blessings. The best time to do this is whenever Baro Ki’Teer is around. While these boosters don’t stack with each other, additional blessings will increase the duration.
So, there we have it, five more places to farm affinity. Just try not to burn yourself out!
