Warframe Cosmetics that don’t require Platinum

Looking cool can be quite costly in Warframe. The majority of cosmetics tend to require Platinum to purchase. And some cosmetics, namely Tennogen and Prime stuff, can only be bought with real money. However, just because you are on  budget, doesn’t mean you can’t look handsome too. Here are some options for the frugal Tenno.

Baro Ki’Teer’s shop

Baro comes every two weeks with new gear from the void, most of which is cosmetic. However, the quality of his gear is all over the place. Sometimes he’ll bring back a cosmetic from the past (like the Harkonar Wraith armour) but sometimes Baro demands a lot of ducats on one earring for your Space Kid. Generally though, there are more pressing items to buy, like Primed mods. So cosmetics are a bit of an afterthought.

Syndicate Armour and Syandanas

For a long time, Syndicates have had exclusive Syandanas, to show your commitment to each of the 6 main Syndicates. However, recently, we actually had matching armour sets added to the Syndicates as well. So you can have a whole set of armour to match your favourite Syndicates. What’s interesting though is that the other syndicates, namely Solaris United and Cetus, they have their own faction armour as well.

Unfortunately these are all very expensive to obtain. Not only do you need to reach the maximum level for each Syndicate, most of the time, the cosmetics require over 100,000 standing to purchase. So you’ll need to make multiple trips to buy everything.

Nightwave

Each season of Nightwave comes with its own pack of trinkets. As well as Endo and Cred, there are cosmetics strewn across the 30 levels, with nicer stuff appearing towards the end. While the path of reaching rank 30 is a long one, it is worth doing.

If you stick around long enough, then you can get cosmetics from other Nightwave episodes as well. Many of Nightwave’s cosmetics are repeats of older Nightwave gear, so even if you didn’t play the original episode, there’s a chance that its unique gear will return in an Intermission.

Dex skins

Every March, there’s always some sort of anniversary event in Warframe. So far, we have actually gotten quite a few cosmetics over the years, enough to have an entire matching set. We have two Dex skins, one for Excalibur and one for Rhino, as well as a matching Syandana, armour set and a Liset skin, plus a whole set of weapons.

The only downside to the Dex skins is that they only come once a year. But it’s definitely worth the wait.

The Conclave

It feels weird putting the Conclave on this list, however, Conclave actually has some good cosmetics in it. The only problem is that, to get those cosmetics, you need to play a lot of Conclave. Which, honestly, depending on region, isn’t always a problem. That being said, earning Standing in Conclave takes a long time, and the cosmetics are expensive as well. Still, if you live in NA, it might be worth giving Conclave a go.

Sadly though, the signature Syandana doesn’t remain lit up unless you play regularly.

Bonus free stuff: Colour Palettes

It’s not just armour and wearable stuff that you can obtain for free. Various events every year give out exclusive and time-limited coloyr palettes that you can use straight away. My personal favourite palette is Halloween, which contains the yellow for my Volt. Other free skins include a valentines day palette, two palettes that rotate in Baro’s inventory and, nicest of all, the Pride colour palette from Pride Month. It’s worth checking both Baro and the Market, to see if there’s a colour palette available.

So yeah, there we have it. Great cosmetics for those who don’t want to spend Platinum!
