Damn Axi Relics

Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of relics in Warframe. After all, I have like 4000 hours in this game, and a lot of it was spent opening relics. However, looking at my slowly shrinking relic collection, there’s an obvious theme going on. I have way, way too many Lith relics, a lot of Meso and Neo relics and… very few Axi relics.

Limited farming spots

Weirdly, Axi relics are actually kinda hard to farm. The best place to get Axi relics is via Disruption missions, particularly on Lua. Aside from that though, options are limited. Bounties for open worlds aren’t too bad, but there is a lot of additional loot alongside relics. For example, farming for relics on Cetus often clashes with the rewards for Revenant, and Garuda does the same in the Orb Vallis.

Sometimes though, the fastest way to get a new relic can be via Capture and other faster missions. However, again, it really does depend on what relics you are looking for. And even then, Axi relics tend to be stupidly rare.

There was an interesting way of farming Axi relics though, and that was due to the Prime Resurgence. Thanks to Varzia, a surviving Dax who lives alongside Maroo and her bazaar, she happily sells special relics that have been vaulted in the past. To obtain these relics though, you need to farm Aya, which is some sort of blue, Orokin-related goop. Either way, although Varzia does sell the specific relics you need, you’ll always need to buy more, due to relics’ contents being random.

Always mixed in with Neo relics

What makes Axi relics weird though is that they are rarely the first thing you’ll get from a mission. For example, on Hieracon, the Pluto Dark Sector, Axi relics aren’t in the reward rotation until you’ve completed 6 digs. Even with an efficient team, that still takes a long time. And during that time, you’re also going to get a lot of crap as well. Excavators can mine up all sorts of crap, like mods that most people probably already have. For every Axi relic you obtain, you can easily get 1-5 Neo relics as well. And where we do see Axi relics? They’re always bundled alongside something else. Generally a Neo relic or three.

Sure, you get the same thing between Lith, Meso and Neo relics. They have their own spots in the drop tables and you can get some relics while farming for others. But at least the other types of relics are pretty common, and can drop as a single reward on their own. Axi relics on the other hand are regularly buried beneath Neo relics and other assorted loot.

It’s all random luck anyway

What makes matters worse is that Axi relics generally hold the most expensive prime parts. Which means that getting one Axi relic isn’t good enough. I seem to always need at least 3-5 Axi relics, sometimes far more, to get whatever Prime part I require. And there’s always some annoying Warframe part that’s the rare gold reward in an Axi relic.

Unfortunately, there’s no way you’ll get what you want. Every relic is all down to luck and refinement. Obtaining relics is exactly the same. Random luck and hoping for the best. The fact that Axi relics are far rarer than other relics just makes the randomness worse.

No wonder why I have so few Axi relics…
