A Brief Look At Gemini Home Entertainment

It’s rare for me to watch actual horror movies, especially on Youtube. My grip on reality isn’t the best and scary movies can and do haunt me for ages. However, lately, I’ve stumbled across “Analog horror”. It’s basically unsettling and traumatic stories being told via found footage or classic VHS cassettes. Older horror, before the time that we all had computers in our pockets. They are designed to look exactly like they came off from video tapes

One particular analog horror though stands out to me: GEMINI HOME ENTERTAINMENT. And I want to talk a little about it.

Before I start though, this stuff can be quite… disturbing. Which is why I am recommending the deep dives by Some Ordinary Gamers and Nexpo. These talks allow you to experience a more controlled level of horror, with some censoring here and there to keep things clean. Please also take note that, while I discuss this, there will be spoilers. I recommend you go and watch any of the above first, before you read the rest of this article.

Slowly consuming

Throughout Gemini Home Entertainment, we have a story that surrounds an old camping ground, told via infomercials, adverts and documentaries. In these videos, we seem to flip-flop between strict information and found-camera footage of horrible things going on under our noses. The videos tend to start off normal, before turning sinister, often with muted music and nothing but ambient sounds. Through these videos, we discover vicious, manipulative Wood Crawlers. Beings that puppeteer human bodies, steal our voices and act as sirens, drawing more prey straight into their jaws. And wherever the Woods Crawlers tread, they leave behind fleshy red tendrils that slowly ingrain themselves into everything, animal, plant or mineral.

However, the videos shown just represent one small region in the US. The real question is, has this plague spread across the rest of the world? Considering how out of control things turn in these videos, the answer is a rather odd “maybe”. We never see outside of Moonlight Acres and the surrounding forests. But Wood Crawlers have also been seen at the bottom of the ocean, so who knows? Heck, are there even any humans left alive, considering how powerful the Wood Crawlers seem to be? Perhaps entire cities are now wrapped up in webs of flesh? Or is it just rural areas that are being feasted upon? I don’t know, and I’m not sure if I want to know.

The Solar System and the Iris

What’s even more terrifying though is that, well, our whole solar system is kinda messed up too. While the Wood Crawlers terrorize Earth, the more distant parts of our solar system are being attacked too. As first seen in OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, there’s a mysterious new planet that’s popped up. Called the Iris, this planet is definitely large and is also definitely coming closer. And it’s causing problems for the other outer planets. Well, Uranus is fine, but the other gassy giants really aren’t. Jupiter’s Big Red Spot is described as an open wound, Saturn’s rings are being torn away by unseen gravitational shifts and Neptune has been “mutated”. Mutated how? We have no idea.

And then we send a satellite, to find out what is really happening, which seems like a smart thing to do. The Crusader Probe’s mission is to take images of Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. And it does that. Jupiter and Saturn are somewhat as they were, but Neptune is… missing. It’s completely gone. And in its place are gravitational pulls, moons stolen from other planets and the Iris, what can only be described as a living planet, fleshy and with its own, organic moons. The Crusader Probe finds itself floating into the Iris and its internal organs, only to stop sending signals and disappear.

Those signals however do eventually return. And they appear to be coming closer and closer to Earth. Alongside the organic planet the Crusader Probe was swallowed by. This, to me, is what I thought to be the scariest part, since it’s so vague but also weirdly close.

Basically, we’re fucked

Unfortunately for Earth, there’s not much that we can do. The Wood Crawlers have most likely spread across most of the planet, and the Iris is only months away, its jaws unhinging and hungry. This is basically the end of the world, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. It’s a depressing ending, but what else can one do?

If you’re into slow-paced horror, then I really recommend watching GEMINI HOME ENTERTAINMENT. It’s a crazy story, and my ramble about it really does not do it justice. Watch for yourself and be… unnerved. Maybe even scared…

In the meantime, have this nice piece of relaxing music, which is great to calm down to.
