Little Tiny Things You May Not Have Noticed in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO has tiny little tidbits that you may not notice. Not so much easter eggs, more little details that are easily missed. Here are some of these little tidbits.

• Your shadow moves with the time of day. This is actually a somewhat newer feature, but the shadow of your avatar and the shadow of your buddy will move according to the time of day, getting longer in the evenings and shorter closer to noon.

• Pokemon you have tapped on turn to face you. If you tap on a Pokemon and don’t catch it, it will turn to face wherever you were standing when you tapped on it. This only lasts until they fall out from the 40m spawn area. When they respawn, they go back to a random rotation.

• The last Pokemon you tapped on has a pink circle around it. Just so you know what you lasted tapped on.

• Nosepass always points north. When you tap them, they turn to face you, but after a while they return to pointing north.

• Your daily spawn appears at the same time as Team Rocket balloons. The daily Pokemon spawn is a good indicator that there’s a Team Rocket balloon about to spawn as well.

• If you have a super radar, every balloon will have Giovanni. Unlike pokestops which spawn grunts, you’re guaranteed to get Giovanni on a Team Rocket balloon. Giovanni pokestops on the other hand have a chance to be a decoy grunt. That being said, it can be worth doing decoy grunts for extra stardust, Pokemon and radar components.

• A Pokemon that has mega-evolved at least once has their mega evolutions appear from the corners of their screen. This only shows

• Gyms get bigger according to how much health is in them. A gym with only a few low health Pokemon is smaller, while a tower appears on a gym that has plenty of healthy Pokemon in it. This can help you choose which gym to attack.

• Eggs in incubators take up one space in your Pokemon storage. This means that, if you put an egg in an incubator while at maximum capacity, the game will tell you that you are out of space. So you will need to delete a Pokemon before incubating a new egg.

• You can name Eevees after anime eeveelutions to get the right Pokemon. However, this only works once, and you can’t do it again. This actually applies to all Eeveelutions, including the ones you have to walk to evolve.

• Buddies will do both fast and charge attack animations if you tap right. When you are on the buddy screen, you can tap for different emotions. One tap does the fast attack, two taps do the charge attack. This can be used to make better photos, but it doesn’t really do much else.

So there we have it, a bunch of little tidbits that you might not have noticed. Are there any other things you know about? Write in the comments and let me know!
