My Gripes with Duviri
Lately, I’ve had a lot of problems and bugs with the new Duviri update, and it’s starting to depress me. For reasons unknown, everything has been running weirdly in Warframe ever since this update hit. Things are taking a while to load and host migrations are everywhere. Just the other day, I lost 45 minutes worth of Steel Path Circuit, and that REALLY pissed me off. But frankly this update has mostly been a mess. And I have quite a few gripes about it.
The biggest problem with it all are long loading screens. Not everyone is using an SSD, some people are using normal hard drives. But the loading screens are so damn long. Okay, entering Duviri might take a while, but it’s far slower than trying to load into the Orb Vallis, which is just as big. Or technically bigger, since Duviri is filled with massive holes. But even the Circuit takes forever to load! It’s only four levels plus Teshin’s cave. Yet it takes longer to load into the Circuit than it does to load into Duviri!
Everything also needs a ton of new resources. But the ones you get from bounties are stupid. You do a bounty stage and get one Kovnic, some intrinsics and a decree. It’s basically nothing. If you need resources, which everyone does, you’re better off putting the game in solo mode and just wandering around cutting down plants. But even then, you still need a ton of resources. And almost everything needs pathos clamps, which only drop from killing Orowyrms. Assuming you manage to get that far without any glitches.
The only saving grace is that, on Duviri proper, you can leave and keep your stuff. When you leave Duviri, you keep everything up until the latest decree you picked up. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen at all on the Circuit. If you lose or have a problem, then you lose everything you gained, including intrinsics and resources. There really needs to be some sort of fail safe that works just like the Duviri one. These missions can be very long, and it sucks to lose everything because of a host migration.
The worst thing though is finally getting in to a circuit run and seeing that you’re stuck as Drifter in the Circuit. This makes things basically impossible if you want to progress or anything. Instead of dropping you in as Drifter and doing no damage, it should pick a random Warframe and weapons, so at least you’re not a completely dead weight. But no, I’ve been stuck in multiple circuit runs as Drifter, and being completely unable to do any damage what so ever. All you can do is extract as soon as possible, and hope that it doesn’t happen again next time.
Part of this is to do with my laptop, which isn’t the best. But almost all these problems have cropped up since Duviri came out. Before Duviri, I’d get some long loading times occasionally, but now everything takes forever to load. And to make matters worse, I can’t even make my Kaithe fly around on the Duviri loading screen.
If anything, it’s very depressing for me. I want to enjoy this new content, but I can’t. I’m just being left behind and it sucks.
