The Best Stealth Options in Warframe
Stealth in Warframe is a bit finicky. On the one hand, stealth can be hard to maintain, mostly because of how enemy AI works. On the other hand, stealth is mostly optional for about 90% of the game. However, when you do need stealth, there are, luckily, plenty of options. So here are five options for when you need to be stealthy.
Ivara
The number one option for stealth HAS to be Ivara. Ivara is built to be stealthy. Not only can she remain invisible for an insanely long time, but she can also distract enemies, put them to sleep and avoid pretty much all alarms and traps. If you use the Infiltrate augment, Spy missions become almost impossible to fail as long as you remain invisible. Which is stupidly easy to do, as Ivara has a high energy pool to draw from. And Prowl costs very little energy as well, to almost no energy if you stand still.
Hunting for Floofs
Again, Ivara is queen here, but she’s not actually alone in the floof-hunting department. Equinox, with her Rest and Rage ability, can easily put conservation animals to sleep, and also allows you to do so perfectly. Equinox is also great for stealth when it comes to leveling weapons. One of the more long-lived ways to farm affinity was to use Equinox to put enemies to sleep, then abuse the stealth multiplier and a silent weapon to kill enemies to get lots of experience.
The Hush mod and its variants
Some weapons are naturally silent. Most melee weapons are considered completely silent, unless they’re gunblades, which do make a noise when you fire them. When it comes to primary weapons, non-AoE bows are also completely silent too. Weapons like the Daikyu, Paris and non-mutated Cernos are all silent, and only attract enemies should they see a corpse or see another enemy die.
However, did you know, you can make any weapon silent? The mods Hush, Surpress and Silent Battery can be equipped on rifles and bows, secondary weapons and shotguns, making your weapon completely silent. These mods can also go in your weapon Exilus slot, so they’re not taking space away from more important mods. You have to be careful though, as enemies that don’t die quickly enough will become alerted. But that’s not a problem if you’re using something like the Ogris or the Kuva Bramma, or any other explosive weapon. Yep, explosions can be silent too.
Banshee also comes into play. She might not be invisible, but her passive makes all weapons silent. Great for that pesky MR9 test.
Space Kiddo Time
If you fancy a different flavor of stealth, then there’s always the Operator (or Drifter, outside of Duviri). If you have leveled up Zenurik, your Operator can have tons of energy to remain invisible for a pretty long time. You also have access to Void Sling (rest in peace, Void Dash) to travel a bit more quickly. Just make sure you leave your Warframe somewhere safe, because enemies will attack both it and your companion, if you have one.
Ignore everything as a cloud
Sometimes though, you don’t need invisibility. Instead, you can just turn into a cloud and fly about as if you’ve turned on No Clip in Garry’s Mod. Okay, you can’t travel through walls, but you can definitely fly wherever you want. There’s plenty of reasons why so many people play Wukong, and the ability to fly with almost no limits is one of those reasons. Not only do you pass through everything, but you are untouchable and heal as well. Even your clone follows you. Wukong makes pretty much everything a cakewalk.
Just go in loud
There’s nothing stopping you from doing a Spy mission as Inaros or Rhino or whoever you want. Spy missions are generally a test of agility and good timing. And since cameras and enemies in Spy vaults can easily be dispatched, as long as you can remember how to get into a vault, there’s nothing to worry about.
But the fun thing is, you can have the best of both worlds. Octavia can do things noisy while also being invisible. She can destroy hordes with ease, while also being invisible. Unfortunately, she’s not invulnerable, and if she doesn’t keep up with the invisibility, she can easily die.
The other Invisible guys
Finally, we have the original invisible guys. Loki and Ash have been able to go invisible from the very beginning. Sometimes, just being invisible is enough to get the job done. Sure, they’re not as flashy as other options here, but they are reliable.
And sometimes, reliable is all you need.
