Things I Kinda Regret in Warframe

Warframe is a big game with a lot of stuff going on. From large updates to the release of new Prime Warframes, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or miss out on various things. Simply put, some mistakes were made. Here are some of mine.

My choices in the New War

I kinda rushed my way through the New War. I didn’t really enjoy Drifter’s combat and was desperate to get back to normal Warframe. Because of this, I ended up making a few mistakes. One of them was not taking the time to actually fight the third Archon. I was glad to be back in my beloved Volt, and I kinda accidentally just blew the Archon up without even seeing him.

But my biggest regret came at the very end, when the Lotus lets you decide who she is. I should have stuck with the more balanced Lotus, but instead I went with Margulis. While it doesn’t make much difference either way, I quickly felt like Margulis didn’t fit whenever she was telling me to kill something.

Deleting old frames after getting their primes

Being an older player, I used to delete Warframes after getting their primes. Instead, what I should have done was keep the old Warframes, so I could feed them to Helminth. It wasn’t like I was starving for slots. After all, early in my Warframe career, I actually managed to accumulate plenty of platinum, I could have kept these frames. Now I have to go back and farm a lot of Warframes. Namely Trinity, who is locked behind the Ambulas boss fight. Thankfully, there are alternate options, like playing the Circuit in Duviri, but that means playing Duviri content that I’m bored of.

The other issue is that I’ve gone and forma’d multiple non-prime Warframes, and I’m unwilling to feed them to Helminth, because of the effort I put into them.

Not doing more Plague Star

Plague Star is an old event that gets brought back every so often. Basically, a massive Infested mass lands in the middle of the Plains of Eidolon, and we’ve got to pour poison on it to get rid of it. This leads to a very long bounty, generally involving travel across the entirety of the Plains, only to get very little from said bounty. But that doesn’t matter, because Plague Star gives you standing (similar to Konzu and normal Plains of Eidolon stuff) and with that standing, you can buy complete Forma. Not blueprints. Forma. Fully built Forma.

You can never have too many forma. But I’ve skipped this event a few times and regretted it pretty much every time.

Taking a long break

I honestly kinda regret taking a long break from Warframe. I felt like I missed quite a lot in my absence. The most notable things I missed were Veilbreaker, with Kahl from the New War; and incarnon weapons. Incarnon weapons seem to be stupidly powerful, but I don’t have any of them. Even though I played Duviri, I still missed out on incarnon weapons simply because of the long load times, and the fact that Steel Path Circuit is tedious with the wrong Warframe and weapons.

Warframe isn’t really big on FOMO (fear of missing out) but sometimes I do step back and think “damn, I should have played more”… Oh well.
