My Favourite Armour Sets in Warframe

Warframe has so many cosmetics. From colour palettes to syandanas to armour to what are essentially unusual effects, there is a lot of choice to be had. Armour in particular does a lot to alter the silhouette of any Warframe, but again, there are so many choices. Here are my five favourite armour sets

Saturn Six armour

I adore the Saturn Six armour. It fits nicely on male frames, giving them a nice, round shape while also actually looking like armour that might protect you. The colour channels match a lot of skins as well, making the Saturn Six armour easy to customize. What I like most is that they don’t look bulky, despite looking like actual armour. They nestle well against the body and don’t stick out in any real way. The Saturn Six armour is also good for making a cheaper Grineer-themed look, without having to buy Tennogen skins.

Avia Prime

There are actually three sets of Avia armour, and I like all three. However, Avia Prime has the biggest and pointiest look. In fact, they kinda look like mini wings. Not in the same way as the Naberus armour, they point more backwards. The Avia Prime set also has way better colour channels than both the Avia and Avia Prisma armour sets, making it easier to customize.

Syrinx Shoulder Armour

The Syrinx armour set itself is alright, but there’s something about the shoulder plates. They fit in the same position as the Vetala armour plates, but are smaller and seem to nestle in a bit more nicely. The Syrinx armour also colours better than the Vetala armour, which has weird colour channels. The rest of the armour set is nice, but the chest piece sticks out a bit. But the shoulder armour works great if you want pauldrons on your Warframe.

Protovyre Armour

Protovyre actually has a whole set of cosmetics, that adapt over time. There are a syandana, an ephemera and an armour set. Doing various tasks unlocks different forms of Protovyre armour, each look getting bigger and fancier as you unlock them. The Protovyre syandana is very over the top, and the syandana can be a bit too big as well. The fully evolved shoulder armour is also rather huge, but I’m not interested in those.

Yes, my favourite part of the armour set is the basic form, which are small, unintrusive but also a little glowy. This tiny armour fits nicely on more dainty frames, adding a bit of extra sparkle instead of being in your face.

Oscira  Armour

The Oscira armour set is incredibly bulky. So bulky in fact that they are hard to match with anything. So normally you see them on bulky Warframes. But the shoulder and knee pieces actually do a lot for the silhouette of a Waframe, making smaller frames look bigger as well. I like h0w they spike upwards, giving extra protection. Of course, they don’t give extra protection, but they look like they do. However, the chest plate isn’t particularly good. It sticks out too far forward and looks a bit weird.

Anyway, those are my five favourite armour sets. But there are also some runner-ups, like the Targis Prime set, the rest of the Syrinx set and a multitude of prime armours that I can’t afford. These armour sets though are all pretty good, I like them at least.
