Writers’ Block Strikes Again

It’s late in the evening, and here I am, sitting at my laptop, trying to think of something to write about. Something that can at least get me to 500 words so I can meet my daily quota. After all, I have to write 500 words a day as part of my new year’s resolution. But today, while staring at my laptop, nothing really springs to mind.

Normally, when I write, I generally have a title in mind, as well as a few headers. A vague skeleton of text that I can then work around and fill in the details. Sometimes I’ll basically write an article backwards, starting from the last header to the first. I wouldn’t say that my method is any good, but as long as I have a couple of headings written down, it doesn’t really matter where I start.

But that is not always enough. Sometimes the article juices just don’t flow. And today, my creative juices have been sucked dry. There is pretty much nothing inside my thick skull. Just half-baked ideas that don’t really have the strength to be converted into 500 word articles. Or even 200 words.

So what am I going to write about? I can’t really sit here and write random bollocks about anything. I also can’t really follow the guide I wrote about writers’ block because I’ve already followed all those tips, and I need an article ready to go before midnight. Before tomorrow.

What makes matters worse is that I haven’t really been playing or doing much. Sure, I did Raid Hour with some friends at town hall, all of us playing Pokemon GO. But Raid Hours are just so… well, basic. We meet up, do a couple of raids and then complain that no one got any shinies. Well, I say that, this time round, we actually did get a couple of shiny Tapu Kokos, and I got a normal Tapu Koko with decent stats. But it’s not that interesting. I could write about Raid Hours in general, but there’s very little actual content to actually write about. Plus, my leg hurts for some reason, so walking around does nothing but make my leg hurt more.

And when it comes to other games, I don’t always have the… the enjoyment of them. By that, I mean that I played the game and nothing article-worthy happened. I played Overwatch 2 last night with my boyfriend and played Mercy for a bit. But the only interesting thing that happened was that I killed another Mercy with her weird pistol. The more annoying thing was that my FPS drops to 10 when I start a new game. It kinda fixes itself after my first and second deaths. Still very annoying though.

What else do I play? I’ve been playing a tiny bit of Pokemon Violet, still trying to avoid spoilers because apparently some crazy shit happens later on. Thankfully I haven’t met my Rival in a while, but she’s bound to appear at some point. I also opened Destiny 2 briefly, mainly to buy an item from Banshee, a Funnel Web. It’s an SMG with good rolls, similar to the Gnawing Hunger rifle I normally use.

And…

Hang on, that’s 500 words. I’ve somehow managed to hit my quota. Well, that’s nice. Time to repeat all of this tomorrow, when I try to write my next 500 words…
