5 Pokemon You Should Ideally Have 6 Of

If you want to be efficient and powerful in raids, then you need a good team to back you up. And if you want to be really efficient, then you want six of the best Pokemon, and ideally leveled up Pokemon as well. Here are some Pokemon that are just too good and useful. Note that I’m talking about normal Pokemon, because you can only have one Mega Pokemon at a time. I’ve also not included shadow Pokemon since they’re automatically better than anything else. If it’s on this list and can be a shadow Pokemon, then you should use that over normal Pokemon.

Galarian Darumaka

Galarian Darumaka is the best ice type, and ice types are the best thing to defeat dragon types, which there are many of. Ice has a lot of weaknesses, but it’s perfect for defeating threats like Rayquaza and Salamence.

If you can’t afford or find Darumaka, then your next best bet is Mamoswine. Mamoswine is an easy Pokemon to find, even in the summer months, because of its ground typing. Even when not in season, Swinub can be found in Team Rocket battles as both a ground type and ice type. And we all know how good shadow Pokemon are.

Rampardos

This little dinosaur is great. While it’s a bit of a glass cannon, Rampardos kicks ass and does massive amounts of damage. You might want more than six of these guys though, because they do die off very quickly.

Technically, Rock Wrecker Rhyperior is better. But that involves getting a lot of elite TMs and giving them Rock Wrecker. Or, alternatively, you can use Terrakion, who is coming up next.

Terrakion

Terrakion has always been strong as a rock type, but ever since it got Sacred Sword and Double Kick, it’s by far the most powerful fighting type. This is actually a somewhat new change, and Lucario was formerly the best fighting type.

Another Pokemon you can use is Lucario, but it’s kinda rare. If you don’t have 6 Lucarios, then you could use Conkeldurr. But that’s just as troublesome to obtain, since they’re normally only in raids. At least you can fall back on Machamp if you need fighting types.

Hydreigon

There are loads of bosses that are weak to dark types. There’s also a lot of bosses that are weak to ghost types. While ghost types generally do more damage, they are weak against themselves. And ghosts normally consist of Gengar and Giratina. However, Hydreigon and its fellow dark types stick around for much longer, and do nearly as much damage. The best current dark type is Hydreigon, with the move Brutal Swing.

For some reason, Rayquaza also can learn Brutal Swing. That’s weird.

Anyway, if you don’t have Hydreigon, then there are other options. Yveltal and Darkrai are both great dark types, and Yveltal in particular resists fighting. You can use Tyranitar as well, but it is a bit slow. If you have those either, then it’s best to fall back on ghost type Giratina Origin Forme.

Metagross

Metagross is the most powerful steel type, as long as it has Meteor Mash. This move is so good that Metagross can stand on its own, even if Steel is a single weakness for whatever raid boss you’re doing. Not only that, but Metagross’s typing, steel and psychic, reduces one of its own weaknesses, making only ground properly super effective.

If you don’t have Metagross, well, uh, there aren’t many good options at all. Dialga has the sub-par Iron Head, Melmetal only has Flash Cannon (which is shit) and things like Steelix lean too far to the defensive side of things, and all have low attack. Or they just have bad moves, like Genesect or Scizor.

Really though, there are TONS of options when it comes to raiding. Well, except for Metagross. Maybe you don’t need six of everything, but as long as you have a party of strong, powered up Pokemon, you’re good.
