A Different Feel When You Play Multiplayer or Singleplayer in Borderlands

I’ve been playing far more Borderlands in the last few weeks than I’ve done so in a long time. Before Borderlands 3 came out, the last time I played was when the free DLC with Commander Lilith came out, and I did so in a group of four. We completed the story pretty quickly. But when I went back to replay that DLC content on my own, I struggled to get through it and eventually gave up. Maybe it’s because I took an old character who had just finished the main Borderlands 2 story, instead of a nearly maxed character… [Continue Reading]

The Problems with Lilith

I’ve written in the past about how I dislike the character Lilith from the Borderlands series, mainly about how she’s the reason we have all these current problems in the Borderlands universe, but frankly, after playing only a little bit of Borderlands 3, I’m really, really struggling with having to deal with Lilith. Because she just feels like a massive hindrance to, well, everything. I’ll start off by saying that everything from the aforementioned article still applies. Lilith is the reason why Roland is dead and why Handsome Jack rose to power in the first place. Lilith also made Angel’s… [Continue Reading]

Borderlands 2 and the Benefits of Cooperative Mode

If there’s one main gameplay change I really, really like in Borderlands 3, it’s the option to change how looting works with other players in your team. In the previous games, everyone saw every weapon that dropped and everyone got pretty much the same gear. If you worked together to kill a boss and it dropped seven guns, then everyone saw the same seven guns and would have to work with each other to decide who got what. Or they could duel with each other and fight over who gets the one and only legendary that dropped from said boss.… [Continue Reading]

Quick Thoughts on Borderlands 3

Ages ago, I considered doing a series of reviews on games based on the first half an hour of gameplay and nothing more. I never really got around to it because of just how varied that half an hour can be, and I was never really sure what rules to have. Should it be 30 minutes of straight gameplay only? Should I include troubleshooting and cut scenes? I never knew,so I never did it. But it was something I also considered doing with Borderlands 3. Anyway, after many troubles trying to obtain Borderlands 3, I finally have the game installed… [Continue Reading]

Not a Borderlands 3 Review

If you’ve ever wondered why the Daily SPUF doesn’t do reviews of newly released games, well, there’s three reasons: firstly, I am not very fast when it comes to games, so I can’t complete them quickly enough to give an overall review of games; secondly, there are already a billion people doing the same thing with new games; and thirdly, we don’t get any free game codes so any brand new games I want to play come out of my pocket (just like the hosting and domain name for the Daily SPUF). Or, in the case of Borderlands 3, my… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on Pre-Ordering Games

The act of pre-ordering a game is simple. You pay money in advance in order to be able to download and install a game the second it’s released. Sometimes you get extra bonuses, like special pre-order only items and cosmetics. Sometimes you get a soundtrack with it. Sometimes you get to install the game earlier than people buying the game on release. And in some cases, you get completely ripped off because the game you pre-ordered turned out to be crap. I’ll be honest, I hate pre-ordering games. I haven’t pre-ordered many games in my short existence, but most of… [Continue Reading]
