My 5 Favorite Bows in Gaming

Since Medic recently covered her 5 favorite bows in Warframe, I was inspired to do something similar, but for gaming as a whole. I’ve often found myself gravitating to bows when available, in part due to their uniqueness in a modern setting. They often play wholly differently to regular firearms, with arcs and draw times and often extra ammo types. The general trend is “rewarding if you learn how to use it,” and I love standing out through mastering the intricacies of an unusual weapon or gadget. One last note before we begin that crossbows are also eligible for this… [Continue Reading]

My Five Favourite Warframe Bows

In most games, bows are generally not particularly strong, at least when compared with guns and the like. But in Warframe, bows are actually really strong, keeping up and even beating standard guns. In fact, some of the strongest weapons in Warframe are bows. Anyway, here are my favourite bows. 5. Rakta Cernos Coming in at number five, we have the Rakta Cernos. Compared to the rest of the list, the Rakta Cernos is very much a standard bow. It shoots basic arrows that basically pin enemies to nearby walls. However, what makes the Rakta Cernos stand out is how… [Continue Reading]

A Weapon of the New War

I love bows. When I played Skyrim, before even really trying swords, I had an eye open for any bows lying around. Whenever I played Destiny 2, I looked for combat bows, because I found them fun. And in Warframe, there are many, many bows that I like. Even aabicus has a way of making use of bows! In my silly little head, using a bow and arrows is the best way to stab someone who is far away. Or they are the best way to blow up someone who is far away. Simply put, bows are fun. And, when… [Continue Reading]

5 Cernos Variations I’d Like to See

I like the Cernos. It’s a nice, simple bow. But unlike most Warframe weapons, the Cernos has a LOT of variations. Currently, there are five variants in-game. Including the normal Cernos, we also have the Rakta Cernos, Cernos Prime, Mutalist Cernos and Proboscis Cernos. But we can do better. We need more Cernos variants. Luckily, I got you covered. Here are 5 cool potential Cernoses. Because we can always do with more Cernos. Prisma Cernos I’m honestly pretty amazed that we don’t have a Prisma Cernos. Prisma weapons overall tend to be a middle ground between normal variants and Prime… [Continue Reading]

Ranking the Cernos Bow Family

When it comes to weapons with the most unique variants, you’d think it’d be something simple, like the Skana or the starting Braton. After all, these are weapons seen from the very start of the game. They’re well-known and popular. For example, the Furis is one of the first guns you can make, and it has four variants. The normal Furis is given as a reward, while the MK1 Furis is in the market. But there’s also the Akfuris dual variant. AND we have the Dex Furis, the anniversary version. But for some reason, the Cernos, a random bow not… [Continue Reading]

5 Reasons to Use the Bow in Payday 2

I’ve covered a lot of weapons in these 2-minute Payday guides. I’ve gone over rifles, shotguns, pistols, melee weapons, throwables, akimbos…and yet in none of those videos, none of my many lists, has my personal favorite weapon ever come up. The weapon that I consider the most versatile and single-best option in the game, something I’m amazed more people don’t use, something I’m usually using in the other slot in all the videos. I’m talking about the Plainsrider Bow from the Western Pack, and by extension all bow-type weapons in the game. In this video, I’m making my case for… [Continue Reading]

Boomkong – The Joy of Wukong and Exploding Bows

I’ve never been a fan of exploding weapons in Warframe. Explosive weaponry is simply too scary for the average Tenno. Because of how much damage explosive weapons do, we blow ourselves up. A lot. To the point that we leave most explosive weapons to one side. In fact, the only really popular explosive weapons were originally weapons like the Tonkor… which had next to no self-damage. Which was removed. The Exceptions to the Rule The Kuva Bramma on the other hand is quite a popular weapon. While it IS a Kuva weapon and requires killing a Lich to obtain, it’s… [Continue Reading]

A Bow Pretending to be a Rocket Launcher

All right, this one is a lot less literally a rocket launcher than the one Medic talked about. But since it’s my favorite primary weapon in the entire game, I couldn’t resist writing an article on the Plainsrider Bow with explosive arrows from Payday 2. Long ago I included the Western Pack on a list of DLC I recommend because, since Payday 2 didn’t (and still doesn’t) have any free grenade launchers or poison weapons, the Plainsrider Bow unlocks both playstyles in a single weapon. Firing arrows tipped with dynamite, the Plainsrider has a number of advantages over other explosives.… [Continue Reading]

A Rocket Launcher Pretending to be a Bow

After a day of doing invasions and assisting the Corpus (and doing the same mission three times over), not only did I incur the wrath of Councillor Vay Hek, but I also ended up with 10 lovely fieldrons. I had a choice on my hands. I could either build myself a new Sentinel – the Helios – which would scan enemies as I fight them, helping me learn more about enemies and enabling me to spawn them in both Captura and the Simulacrum; or I could build the Lenz, a rocket launcher pretending to be a bow. Of course I… [Continue Reading]
