Halo’s Assault Rifle is Magnificent

To err is human. To “get some” is divine. Flawless Cowboy If God is real, he’d probably wield an MA5B. This gas-operated, magazine-fed, 900 RPM slugthrower is the backbone of any fireteam in the United Nations Space Command. Anyone dumb enough to get caught on the wrong end of this weapon is doomed to become more lead than man. Even shielded opponents can’t endure the weapon’s torrent of fire for very long. In close quarters, a sixty-round sustained spray can be devastating. Go the distance, however, and operators should temper their trigger finger– And their expectations. Initially designed for Earth’s… [Continue Reading]

On Silly New Weapon Skins

Weapon skins are kinda weird in Warframe. They often come in several forms. There are weapon skins that only change the texture of the weapon, similar to warpaints in Team Fortress 2. But there are also complete weapon skins that change the whole model into something else. A lot of weapon skins, mainly melee ones, are sold via Tennogen and can only be bought with real money. However there are plenty of other skins that can be bought for Platinum. Many deluxe Warframe skins come in bundles that contain unique weapon skins as well. But for this Nightwave episode (yet… [Continue Reading]

Sunshot

Occasionally on the Daily SPUF, we talk about video game weapons. Most of the time, there are multiple weapons featured in our articles. But sometimes, a weapon can get an article all of its own. Because I either like it that much, or I genuinely hated. Mostly the former. Today, we’ll be looking at the Sunshot, one of the first Exotic Weapons I found in Destiny 2. Boom Now, normally, I’m not a fan of hand cannons and sidearms. Both have always felt somewhat weak to me, especially sidearms. They just don’t feel as hefty as a larger weapon. However,… [Continue Reading]

Retvik’s Top 5 Favourite Primary Weapons in Warframe

There are a LOT of weapons in Warframe. So many in fact that it’s easy to lose track of what you have and have not mastered. Every update almost certainly brings a new weapon or two with it, as do new Prime Access thingies. Many weapons are overlooked or plain forgotten about. As for me though? I’ve reached Legendary 1, the formerly mythical MR31. And after all these years, I can finally relax and just use the weapons I want. Rather than rushing through things for Mastery. So here are my top five favourite primary weapons in Warframe. Kuva Bramma… [Continue Reading]

Painting Silly Replica Borderlands Guns

Most of the toy shops were I live are shit, only containing shitty toys from China. The main toy store is more of a generic sells-tons-of-crap store called Jumbo. But there is one good thing about these shitty stores. You can get TONS of shitty, fake, Chinese guns for low prices. And these cheap, shitty guns are perfect for making Borderlands weapons. Why Borderlands guns? Because Borderlands guns are mostly random in shape and size. You could spend actual time and money making a specific Borderlands weapon from scratch but that might take far longer – and in the case… [Continue Reading]

The Braton and the Soma

When I started Warframe and was given a choice of my first starter weapons, I decided to go for the MK1-Paris, the Lato and the MK1-Bo. A bow, a bog-standard pistol and a long, pointy stick. I could have alternatively chosen the MK1-Braton, the Kunai or the Skana. While the Kunai and the simple sword-like Skana are rather ninja-y, the MK1-Braton is an automatic rifle, about as nonsensical as the (admittedly boring and horrible) Lato or a flamethrower like the Ignis when it comes to ninja weaponry. That being said, the MK1-Paris eventually just wasn’t cutting it any more. The… [Continue Reading]

The Light Machine Gun Plight

LMGs have always been a misunderstood and under-appreciated weapon genre in first-person shooters. Whereas mechanically they fill an obvious role in the sniper rifle>assault rifle>machine gun progression tree, in practice they’re often left off the list entirely or locked into specialist roles due to lack of developer support. Mechanically, LMGs focuses on spewing huge magazines of high-damage bullets very inaccurately. In theory its wielder assumes a suppressive fire role, ensuring that somebody is still firing while all the more-accurate teammates are reloading. Unfortunately its often the case that devs shoulder the LMG with a whole host of downsides; I can… [Continue Reading]

Cops & Zombies

Our Medic has been doing a fine job running this blog. Seriously, she’s amazing. For almost two years now, The Daily SPUF has published a new article every single day, and Medic is personally responsible for both the majority of articles and pictures! SPUF cannot give her enough kudos, but, lately, she’s confessed to being tired. Running a daily blog longer than anyone on Friends held a single job is a repetitive chore with an ever-respawning deadline. So I’m giving Medic a week-long break! And I’m going to do this by writing seven articles in one night. This night, to be exact. I’m turning this video on… [Continue Reading]
