Aerial Ballet

I had been playing Wing Diver wrong. See, I first kept my thumb on the spacebar flying to my heart’s content for about five seconds before plummeting straight into the ground, with the plasma generator alarm blaring in my ears. What I should be doing is instead do elongated jumps across the map, perch myself above buildings and use the high ground, pounce on enemies and fly out. Essentially, I need to play like a tarantula. After I got used to playing as the Wing Diver, her movements are extremely liberating. I can dash across the map, fly between buildings,… [Continue Reading]

On Having Multiple Colour Schemes

With so many colour palettes, skins, armour sets and fancy syandanas, there’s so many ways you can customize your Warframes AND your weapons. And your companions. And your ship. And your Archwing. And your ship’s interior. In fact, there’s so much customization that I was originally very lost and confused, not sure what colour to make what item. In fact, in my very early days, I bounced around constantly on colour schemes. Even when I settled on yellow, I didn’t know which yellow to pick. Or what colours should go alongside that yellow.I went through a couple of colour phases,… [Continue Reading]

Why Scout?

Playing Scout is not something I get to do much. Most of the time, either I’m needed to heal, or I need someone beefier to to barge through the enemy team. But when my team is heavy enough to go against the opposing team and someone else is on lab coat duty, I am in for a treat. Scout is the class I play when I want to turn off my brain and just play by ear. That may be why I am such a bad Scout, since I find myself bumbling into the whole enemy team as a lone… [Continue Reading]

Fishing and Mining and Capturing Small Animals in the Orb Vallis

With the Fortuna update, there are more minerals to mine, more gems to refine and more fish to, er, fish. There is also the whole capturing animals and sending them off to safety via miniature helicopters, but let’s talk about the more familiar things first. Mining got the biggest changes. The whole tracing minigame is gone, having beem replaced with a heating minigame. Basically, while zoomed in, you can click and hold M1 on the glowing circles of any ore vein and hold it until it’s in the white highlighted area. Sometimes the correct area moves around, sometimes it is… [Continue Reading]

Ticker

Most of the NPCs in Fortuna are basically cyborg Corpus slave variants of the NPCs found in Cetus. Eudico is the Konzu of Fortuna, Rude Zuud sells you kit guns in the same way that Hok sells you Zaw parts and there’s all the fishing and mining stuff that the Business and Smokefinger deal with as well. Little Duck is basically the same as Onkko, being Fortuna’s Quills representative. But frankly I don’t like her, since she insulted Excalibur Umbra, refusing to speak to him and wanting to speak to Space Kids only. Umbra has feelings, you know! There are… [Continue Reading]

On Dragonite

Playing Pokemon Go has brought out the nerdy side of me. It’s also gone and brought out a lot of nostalgia, as well as a desire to go through all my old Pokemon cards. When I was little and when I collected them, my two favourites were always Ponyta and Dratini. I managed to collect multiple Rapidash and Dragonair cards, but I never found a Dragonite, so for a long time, I’d forgotten about that Pokemon. It wasn’t until I hatched a Dratini from an egg in Pokemon Go that I remembered that Dragonite was a thing. Because I instantly… [Continue Reading]

Nezha- Not A Trap In Any Way What So Ever

I never understood the whole thing about calling Nezha a trap. Sure, the Warframe based on the folklore deity isn’t the thickest Warframe around, he isn’t the beefiest and he’s certainly not very muscular, but even with the little ribbons on his default helmet, Nezha never looked feminine to me. The source material was always supposed to be playful and flirty with both genders, but Warframe Nezha… I just don’t get it. Nezha’s a male Warframe. He doesn’t even have a hint of breasts, legs and chest like most female Warframes do. If anything, Warframes like Loki and Volt have… [Continue Reading]

To get a Depth Crawler

I needed to go underground to storm an insect nest. And I planned to do that as an Air Raider. The only problem is, the only two vehicles that I can bring underground are the Depth Crawler and the SDL1. And the latter is a motorcycle that can be damaged by bumping into a wall, and there is no way for me to ride and shoot with it at the same time. Thus, I need the Depth Crawler. I started grinding on level 2 on Hard to get weapon drops. How weapon unlocking in the EDF main series games works… [Continue Reading]

Archwing VS K-Drives?

It seems a silly question as to what’s better, Archwing or K-Drives. Both are basically infinite in their uses, but surely the answer is the K-Drive, the awesome hoverboard skateboard thing that’s rewarded to players for completing the Vox Solaris quest, which you can use to zip and zoom and trick your way across the Orb Vallis, right? Surely the K-Drive is better than that boring old Archwing? Well… yes and no. You see, there’s generally two states of mind when you’re playing in the Orb Vallis. You’re either wandering around or you’re doing bounties. One of those activities has… [Continue Reading]
