My Favourite Bullet Hoses

I love a good bullet hose. A gun with a massive clip that shoots a torrent of bullets has always appealed to me. Said shower of bullets allows me to kill enemies I’d normally miss, and I can mow down common trash mobs with ease. A ‘Bullet Hose’ is a perfect name for any sort of gun that spews lead all over the place.

Here are my favourite bullet hoses.

Sweet Business

Starting with Destiny 2, we have the Sweet Business. There are actually a few bullet hoses in Destiny 2, basically the Auto Rifle class of guns. A lot of them are probably better than the Sweet Business. But the Sweet Business FEELS amazing to use. The way it fires up, the sound of the bullets it shoots, the sleek, clean feel… Oh, and the mass murder. I always forget the mass murder that the Sweet Business does.

It’s basically perfect. And now that we have infinite common/white ammo in Destiny 2, the Sweet Business is at least five times more fun than it used to be. Especially if you use Transversive Steps (reload weapons while sprinting) like I do.

Infinity

In Borderlands 2, there’s a gun with a clip of 1. However, that one single bullet is actually infinite. The Infinity is, well, infinite. You can just keep on firing forever and ever. And ever. And ever.

Really, the only downside is that Infinity is more of a pistol than a big gun. And, in the name of balance, the gimmick of an infinite magazine definitely can’t be too powerful. There’s a literal fuckton of guns in the Borderlands series, but the Infinity does live up to its name.

Supra Vandal

I love the Supra Vandal. It’s a great weapon. The Supra Vandal is bright and metallic, a great-looking weapon.

When you mod a Supra Vandal (as you should), it just gets better in every way. The Supra Vandal has a *base* clip size of 300. At one point, when the Supra Vandal and Riven Mods were new, you could get some insane clip sizes. The thing that got me caring about Rivens was the fact that I had a Supra Riven Mod. That mod increased my clip size to 600. It was amazing.

Sadly, the disposition is no longer particularly good. The Supra Vandal really benefited from good Rivens early on. These days though, neither the Supra Vandal or its non-Vandal brother get particularly good disposition. There’s no reason to use the old Supra either, because it only has a clip size of 150.

It’s also a shame that the Supra Vandal is only available rarely from Baro. But if you see it in Baro’s inventory, I really recommend picking it up.

The Grattler

Yes, Warframe gets two bullet hoses that I like. Because I can’t ignore Archwing weapons. Sure, getting an Archwing Gun in normal missions is tedious – you must put a potato and a Gravimag to use them. But the feeling of having a massive gun being teleported into your hands, and you proceeding to mow down a squad of enemies… well, that’s a cool-ness overload right there.

However, the Grattler and its Kuva variant win me over. Because the Grattler fires somewhat explosive rounds. Is it the best Archwing Gun? No. But the Grattler is both easy to access for newbies and an all-round powerful-feeling gun. And when the Grattler gets upgraded for normal Warframe play, everything feels like death and explosions.

Weirdly though, the Kuva Grattler is actually worse than the normal Grattler. It’s still a ton of fun though.

Sasha

While Heavy’s Minigun, Sasha, doesn’t seem as obviously powerful as all the magical guns I’ve mentioned. It’s a standard sort of normal human minigun with a massive barrel underneath it. But for me, Sasha is so awesome. Heavy Weapons Guy is the pinnacle of heavy weapon users, how they should look and feel. The side-grades are all alright too.

Admittedly, Sasha is a lot weaker than the aforementioned bullet hoses. But it has the best feel by far, complemented by Heavy’s commentary. I can almost understand why Heavy keeps Sasha in its own small bed, Sasha deserves it.

Medic

Medic, also known as Arkay, the resident god of death in a local pocket dimension, is the chief editor and main writer of the Daily SPUF, producing most of this site's articles and keeping the website daily.
