Prime Parts and Regal Aya

As part of the run up to the New War, we’re suddenly getting a whirlwind of different surprises. The most notable one is the Prime Resurgence, a new way of obtaining not just vaulted weapons and Warframes, but their armour and other cosmetics too. By visiting an old Dax in Maroo’s Bazaar, getting a missing Primed Warframe is a lot easier. A new currency has appeared, called Aya, which can be found in the Void and in bounties, and you can trade Aya for various Prime Warframes

The shop rotates on a weekly basis, starting with Mag and Nova Prime, as well as their gear. Both their Prime Access packs and the singular Waframes and guns are available.

Actually, I say that, it’s more of a good way of getting relics for vaulted Warframes. Unless you spend actual money, that is.

Regal Aya and funny prices

The new currency in Warframe is called Aya, closely related to Ayatan sculptures. According to the new NPC selling these things, Aya is some sort of fluid that contains old memories. We now also have a new premium currency. Unlike Platinum though, Regal Aya can’t be traded, gifted and all that. Its single use is to buy Prime Access stuff. So the currency is there to directly buy the Prime things you want.

You have to buy Regal Aya with actual money. That’s fine, most games have a premium, cash-only currency. However, the pricing doesn’t quite feel right. The minimum you can pay is €17.77 for three (3) Regal Aya. That’s enough for one Warframe or a weapon and one cheap cosmetic. If you want both the Waframe and their Prime weapons, that costs 5 Regal Aya. So you have to buy the next pack up.

While the price of €17.77 matches that of old Prime Accessories unvaulting packs, we are however missing one thing: the Platinum in the packs. Instead of Platinum, you get Endo, which, well, isn’t nearly as valuable as Platinum is. This actually did get fixed, DE went and added platinum with each purchase of Regal Aya. However, the problem of buying packs is still an issue. If I want the 10 Regal Aya pack that contains everything, I HAVE to buy the 15 Regal Aya bundle.

All I want to do is make it so you can buy Regal Aya one at a time. Not in stupid packs with weird numbers. Let us buy one Regal Aya as and when we need it.

There’s not much to buy with normal Aya

Seriously, there’s only a rotating handful of things you can buy with Aya. The main things for purchase are vaulted relics, so you don’t have to spend ages farming in the Void or doing bounties to get the relics you want. Instead, you find yourself grinding for Aya in the Void or in open world bounties. This is just so you can buy the relics you want. Fingers crossed you get what you want when you open the relics.

But the other items that cost Aya are, well, very small. There’s a set of glyphs and some old Twitch rewards. But that’s about it.

Couldn’t even give the nice Dax lady her own shop.

What I find the most interesting thing about all of this is that Varzia doesn’t even get a real shop. She just stands in the corner of Maroo’s Bazaar, with nothing more than a table to lean on and some random Ayatans. I suppose at least Varzia has a good personality. She seems pretty chill, and is happy to see us. Despite our pasts. I look forward to see more of her.

At the end of the day, I think the whole Prime Resurgence thing is a great idea. But how it’s currently implemented into Warframe could do with some refinement. Because, as it stands, it’s easier and cheaper to just trade and buy the mastery-giving items from other players.
