Meta Weapons and some Alternatives in Warframe

There are a lot of weapons in Warframe. SO many, in fact, that it’s easy to forget that a lot of them exist. However, a lot of people focus on the most meta of weapons. It’s understandable, people want to use the best guns. This means that many guns fall by the wayside, somewhat unwanted.

However, there are some sneaky weapons that perform just as well as the standard meta weaponry. Here are just a few of them.

The Lenz

The Kuva Bramma is a terrifying beast. When it was first released, it did HUGE amounts of damage. It was also capable of easily killing yourself too. Even after multiple nerfs, the Kuva Bramma is a solid choice in weaponry.

However, the Bramma isn’t the first explosive bow around. People tend to forget the Bramma’s older brother, the Lenz. The Lenz fires one arrow at a time, creating a sphere which slows enemies then explodes, dealing fucktons of damage. It’s just like having Frost’s Snow Globe, firing it at your prey and then blowing it up. However, because the Lenz’s projectiles are slow and a bit of thought is required, people tend to flock towards the Kuva Bramma anyway.

Phantasma

For a long time, the Ignis was the only real flamethrower in the game. Sure, the Atomos and Nukor existed, but Ignis was on top. Even more so when the Ignis Wraith came out. However, we did get a new flamethrower when Revenant came out. The Phantasma is Revenant’s preferred weapon of choice, firing with two modes: flamethrower and cannonball.

What’s interesting about the Phantasma though is that it’s… a shotgun. So the Phantasma gets all the big damage benefits that normal shotguns do. It also inherits the downsides, by being rather short ranged and having a very small ammo pool. Luckily, the lack of ammo can be fixed by

And I haven’t even talked about the massive cannonball that is Phantasma’s alt-fire. It’s a massive, flaming cannonball, not much else to say. It does eat through ammo, but the Phantasma’s alternate attack is way more dangerous than the Ignis. I suppose it’s a good thing that self-damage was removed though. Because, like the Lenz, the Phantasma is deadly.

The Vulkar and Vulkar Wraith

When it comes to the most meta items, I always turn to Eidolon Hunts. Most of Warframe is pretty casual, you can use whatever frame you like. However, when it comes to hunting Eidolons, you need a tight-knit team and all the right gear. That involved in getting a sniper rifle that does high damage per shot. The two most preferred sniper rifles have been Rubico Prime and Lanka, followed by normal Rubico, as they were among the fastest heavy hitters around. They were crucial for doing multiple Eidolon hunts.

At least, well, they were, before Necramechs came in.

Anyway, luckily, there are other sniper rifles that can keep up. Sure, the Vulkar and its Wraith variant are both weaker than the Lanka and Rubico, but they have way better Riven disposition. This means you can squeeze more damage out of the Vulkars by using Riven mods, and they gain better stats from said Riven mods.

That’s it for today’s collection of weapons. Check back soon, once I’ve written about three more alternatives to meta weapons!
