How I’d Design My own Warframe

It’s pretty clear that I have a few Warframes that I use way more than other. Volt is my jack-of-all-trades Warframe. Khora is my defensive Warframe. Ivara on the other hand does bits and pieces, like fishing and Spy missions. However, none of these Warframes are perfect. Volt is very close to being perfect, but he’s not quite there. So, in today’s article, I’m going to design my own Warframe.

The Rules

Before I start though, I want to put down some rules. I could just say that my perfect Warframe has 5 abilities and all of them nuke maps or whatever. But that wouldn’t be particularly fun. On the flip side, if we only used abilities from the Helminth, then that might be too simple or not particularly fun – a lot of the Helminth abilities clash. So my plan here is to only use existing abilities and passives, from Warframes already in the game.

The Warframe’s Passive

Passives in Warframe are pretty weird. Some passives are very simple. For example, Rhino does a mini-stomp whenever he hits the ground hard. Some passives though are just plain bad. Frost’s passive is that enemies that melee him have a chance to be frozen solid. On the flip side, we have Chroma, who has two passives, one of them being an extra jump and the other being a somewhat complicated way of switching elements.

And then there’s Sevagoth, whose passive is all over the damn place. He has so many passives that you could turn his passives into a full new Warframe.

For my fantasy Warframe though? I think I’d like something simple. And by simple, I mean turning invisible while airborne. Wisp getting free invisibility is pretty strong for a passive, in my opinion, but it is pretty fun to be invisible just because you bullet jumped.

Its Abilities

First abilities are generally kinda simple, and are normally some sort of damage attack. Excalibur for example has a slashing attack for his first ability, while Ember throws little fireballs at enemies. But the best ability is far better than that. Celestial Twin would be my first ability. I mean, who doesn’t want an aim bot that is a copy of yourself, yet has far more health and does tons of damage?

Speed is a Must. Especially if it has Shocking Speed attached to it. There is very rarely a time where you need to be slow, and Volt’s speed is a great choice.

Third choice for me would be Strangle Dome. While it’s definitely not the most powerful ability out there, Strangle Dome is very useful. In my opinion, it’s one of the best crowd control measures around. Not only does Strangle Dome have great range, but it also much more resilient to things like Nullifiers. If I can’t have Strangle Dome then I’ll be happy with Ensnare. Basically the same version except more centralized.

Finally, I want an exalted weapon. Exalted weaponry is a lot of fun, despite needing to be forma’d separately for best results. For simplicity’s sake though, I just want Excalibur’s Exalted Blade.

The Look

Small problem, I have no idea what this Warframe would look like. Or even what gender it is. But, knowing me, I’d probably make it pretty draconic. Why? Because the only dragon-y Warframe we have so far is Chroma. But Chroma is less of a dragon and more a dragon hunter.

At the very least, give us some cool wings and horns that are not syandanas.

Just an idea

Of course, this is all just fantasy. There will probably never be a Warframe like this. However, with Warframe’s somewhat unknown future, it might become possible to build a frame exactly as you want it. After all Helminth allows you to change one ability, each one hand-picked by the developers. It’s not too large a leap to consider an entire Warframe being made via the Helminth.

However, that is kinda doubtful. After spending years making whole Warframes, I doubt we’ll end up with a DIY Warframe. And, honestly, the idea has actually already been done, in the form of Xaku. That Warframe is made up from different bits of other Warframes already.

Still, it’s nice to fantasize about these things…

Passive, Energy Regeneration, say .5 energy per second but you can’t use the Energy Syphon mod, nor gain from it if someone else has it.
Abilities: 1. Ash Shuriken but damage doubles every 5 ranks and number of shuriken’s doubles every 3 ranks.
    2. Excalibur Radial Blind, no changes
    3. Ash Teleport but double the range and any location I zoom in on.
    4. Excalibur Exalted Blade, no changes
The look. Excalibur Proto-Armor Skin but with a Helmet that is human skull like and more noticeable ammo and weapon pouches-belts. A Repala Syandana and a open head wrap-hood.

Honestly, there’s no need to limit Energy Siphon, it hardly does anything anyway.
