Fortuna 69 is back!

Well who would expect this? After over a year of not existing, Fortuna 69 is back! Somehow, in the most recent few hotfixes, as of May 26th, Fortuna 69 is accessible once again, and the same community have returned to make sure it stays open.

What is Fortuna 69 though? Well, it’s quite a story. When Fortuna released, there were so many people playing that we had hundreds of instances, mini-servers filled with players. As the Fortuna hype slowly died down, many of these instances disappeared as players dwindled. However, in instance 69, players worked together to keep Fortuna 69 open, by making sure there were players always present in the instance. This worked surprisingly well, and the Fortuna 69 instance lasted quite a long time. Unfortunately, a couple of times, the instance would close down, mostly due to bugs or hotfixes. A couple of times, Fortuna 69 was brought back, but after an unlucky update, the instance kicked out the last few players, and Fortuna 69 disappeared.

Fortuna 69 remained dead for over a year, and no one expected it to come back. In the past, the developers, Digital Extremes, would help bring it back, but for the longest time, Fortuna 69 only existed on Discord, and in the hearts of players. Operation Neon Phoenix tried to bring Fortuna 69 back, especially during the Star Days event, but there was sadly not quite enough people to open up an instance. The highest instance I saw was Fortuna 36, and the players in it couldn’t stick around for long.

Then, all of a sudden, on May 26th, Fortuna 69 suddenly reappeared, alongside a couple of other 69 instances. It immediately filled up with players, who jumped onto the opportunity to keep the instance alive once again.

Fortuna 69 is now back online, and the Fortuna 69 community has already returned. While Fortuna may still be in disrepair from what happened in the New War, everyone is still dressing up in their bright cyan and pink neons and showing off inside the instance. People are hanging out all across Fortuna, keeping the instance alive by AFKing there. Already, the instance has managed to survive a couple of hotfixes, and the players are alive and well. In order to keep Fortuna 69 up, we need diligent players. Or at least people who can either hold the fort for hotfixes, or be able to download updates and hotfixes as fast as possible, so they can get back into the instance.

If you want to join the community, you can do so via Discord. Click this linky here to visit the Discord server. There’s also a Fortuna 69 alliance, so if you are the leader of a clan, you can ask to join the alliance, named Fortuna 69 Forever. This is what I did for my clan, Tenno of Anarchy. And if you do join the alliance, you can get a very nifty Fortuna 69 alliance emblem to show off. There are also individual clans inside the alliance, if you want to join one of those instead.

So yeah, Fortuna 69 is back, after we all thought it died for good. Here’s to the fine people who brought Fortuna 69 back. And remember, nice.
