Announcing the Fiction Fun Category

So yeah I know I said I was taking a break and stuff but I don’t want to leave this blog completely dead. While writing articles has been a real struggle for me as of late, I have been writing more and more fiction. In fact, checking over on my Phoviverse website, in the last month alone, my stories have hit the top 10 for most words like 5 times.

But since I’m writing so much there, I decided I can put some of that to good use.

No, that doesn’t mean I’ll be publishing every Phoviverse article here. Because that would be silly. And the reason why that would be silly is because the Phoviverse is complicated and has a lot of backstory that I feel Daily SPUF readers won’t appreciate. The Thantir story arcs in particular are very heavy on backstory and references to older stuff, and they’re also a bit harder to follow because there’s a LOT more main characters you need to worry about. I also won’t be publishing anything from the Death’s Vampiric Boyfriend story arc because, honestly, it’s kinda cringe. I mean, it’s not cringe, it’s kinda cute, a death god picking up a guy who’s considered a freak by everyone else and tells the freak they’re beautiful, but, again, it requires context.

Really, a lot of MK5 stuff requires some context from MK4, mostly because MK5 is a soft reset of MK4. It’s… complicated.

However, I will be publishing more standalone stories. Most of these will be the gladiator battles that Xeno Dessaron One partake in, as well as some of their additional adventures. And maybe I’ll include some downtime as well. I mean, the conversations had between Tenuk, Retvik, Nyssi and Kayel while they’re all at home and drunk are pretty fun.

I’ll also be publishing any Warframe fan fiction I happen to write here. I mean, I did that anyway, but I’ll be including it all in the Fiction Fun category, because that’s where it belongs.

Now, will I be going back and putting every single article that’s a story in Fiction Fun? Nah. I’m too lazy for that. I’ll go back and add a few more recent stories (like the Welcome to Kolasi series) to this category, but otherwise a lot of fiction will just float around in the Now for Something Completely Different section.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy some of this fiction. I enjoy writing it, I genuinely do. It’s fun, I try to make it different and it keeps the voices in my head at bay. And it’s a way for me to put SOME content here on the Daily SPUF while I take a break from video games. Because it’s hard to write articles about video games when you hardly play video games, and Pokemon GO in particular has sucked ass lately.

And if you want to read more complete series, or if you want to dip your toes into the Thantir story arcs or even try reading MK4, then my Phoviverse website is right here. But I do recommend avoiding MK3. While it’s technically canon in a way, it’s also just… well, bad. Stick to the MK5 stuff.
