Left 4 Dead 2 Announces First New Campaign in over 8 Years

Well, this is certainly a surprise! Left 4 Dead 2 is getting a new campaign! The announcement came on Valve’s long-dead Left 4 Dead blog, and the full text is rather cryptic: It has been many years since the infection first hit. Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hopes… CEDA is not going to save us. But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all odds, and soon we can all benefit from their resilience. “The Last Stand” is an update for Left 4 Dead 2, created by the community, for the… [Continue Reading]

Saints Row 2 is coming to PC…properly this time!

Saints Row 2 is among my favorite games of all time. It was the first one where the devs stopped trying to make gritty GTA clones and instead created a gangster sandbox that didn’t take itself seriously. Yet it was also before they veered off the deep end into wacky zany nonsensical insanity, which leaves Saints Row 2 as the perfect middle child of both worlds. Its one major problem is that the PC port is downright terrible, making it a chore to even see the great game underneath the choppy framerate, unplayable vehicle sections and constant crashes. But all… [Continue Reading]

Shiny Pidgey and Rattata are now in Pokemon Go!

Hope you weren’t feeling burnt out by all these last-minute events in Pokemon Go, because Niantic just announced another one! https://twitter.com/PokemonGoApp/status/1100139961750298625 Today is Pokemon Day, the 23rd anniversary of when Pokemon Red and Green first came out on GameBoy in 1996! To celebrate, Niantic’s taking a walk down memory lane by dedicating an event to the Pokemon that players encounter at the beginning of those games. From February 26 to February 28th, Kanto legendaries are returning to raids (probably the birds, though I’m crossing my fingers for Shadow Ball Mewtwos), Pikachu and Eevee spawns will be wearing flower crowns, and… [Continue Reading]

Forzebreak Tournament Results!

Thank you to everybody who joined in watching the first ever Forzebreak tournament! Everybody had a lot of fun, and we totally plan on having more tournaments down the line. The Forzebreak team learned a lot of valuable feedback that’ll help them refine their game going forward (they especially liked AlexMakesGames’s suggestions from the Twitch feed), and Team Ahmet loves their new boxing gloves! Joey was actually the winner of last month’s Major League Magic tournament, meaning he’s currently undefeated in any game we’ve run a tournament for. I had a blast shoutcasting, and special thanks to Juan for co-casting with… [Continue Reading]

Looking for an open-world sci-fi strategy game? Satellite Reign is a co-op isometric shooter where you and up to three friends can sneak, shoot, steal and sabotage your way through a massive cyberpunk city. Satellite Reign is true open-world; there are no limitations and you can go anywhere and uncover new missions while you explore the city. It sounds like the perfect cross between Rainbow Six and Agents of Mayhem, and I can’t wait to give this game a try. Said game is available for free on Humble Bundle for today and tomorrow, so don’t miss out! Update: Turns out there’s a second… [Continue Reading]

The Humble Bundle is having a two-day giveaway for The Darkness II! It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. A sudden, unprovoked attack by a mysterious organization known as the Brotherhood heralds the start of a full-scale war and opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, setting Jackie on a journey to hell and worse. I haven’t personally played The Darkness, but I do know of… [Continue Reading]

Major League Magic Tournament Results!

Thank you to everybody who joined in watching the first ever Major League Magic tournament! Everybody had a lot of fun, and we totally plan on having more tournaments down the line. Ben is the asset director from Medical Necessity you keep reading about in our dev diaries. I had a blast shoutcasting, and a small cadre of the players (mostly JayZ, Pat, Ben, and Joey) shuffled… [Continue Reading]

Your Royal Gayness – New Visual Novel Released on Steam

Your Royal Gayness was a successfully-Kickstarted visual novel that passed through Steam Greenlight. For the past few months, I’ve been writing quests for the project, and yesterday the game was finally released! All of my quests are random encounters, so you may see them whenever a daily event pops up to make your life more complicated. My personal favorite involves a national scarab-racing team. Have fun!

Blizzcon 2017 Announcements!

There’s a thread on reddit right now called “Blizzard literally gave us everything we wanted” and that’s pretty much how I’d sum up this cavalcade of announcements we just got at the beginning of Blizzcon. Blizzard is pulling out all the stops with a host of new Overwatch improvements on several fronts. First and most important, we’re getting our first evil healer! Moira is an Irish geneticist who appears to have something to do with Reaper’s necromantic resurrection, and she specializes in medium-range healing and damage-dealing. She’s got several different beam attacks for defending herself and also fueling her healing… [Continue Reading]
