My 5 Favourite Syandanas

When it comes to cosmetics in Warframe, there are lots of ways to customize yourself. But the most stand-out cosmetic is the Syandana, basically a special cape that hangs on the back of your Warframe. And because Warframe is a third person shooter, having a sexy back is actually pretty important. After all, we spent most of Waframe staring at our Warframes back. Thankfully, Syandanas can help make your back more attractive, and we have so many of them to choose from.

So here are my five favourite Syandanas that I own and wear all the time.

Nighthunter

I did write an article about the Night Hunter Syandana, but it is worth repeating here because I am a sucker for a pair of wings. The Night Hunter really sell the sort of ‘demonic, dragon-like, angry clawing things’ idea. It also looks pretty good when the wings are closed, unlike the other wing-like Syandanas.

Protovyre

Funnily enough, I didn’t like the idea behind the Protovyre Syandana. The idea of having to unlock extra looks seemed like a bit of a pain in the ass. And it is a little bit of a pain in the ass. But it’s also kinda rewarding, since the Protovyre Standana and its enhanced form both look really good.

The weird side-issue is that, well, it doesn’t actually play well with the other Protovyre parts, especially the Ephemera. It all gets too over the top. But as a single piece, the Protovyre Standana looks good and fits good. Not too big but also not too small.

Sidereal

When most people think of a cape, their mind goes to the Repala Syandana. It’s a cool cape, very billowy and flappy. However, the Repala Syandana is a Tennogen item, and, aside from wing-based Syandanas, I don’t buy Tennogen stuff mostly.

The Sidereal Syandana though came out with the Limbo Deluxe skin, and it is actually quite long and Repala-y. I would say that I use the Sidereel Syandana instead of the Repala because I’m cheap, but the Sidereal Syandana does have some of its own benefits too, mostly the glowing energy at the top of the Syandana. The Sidereal Syandana also looks a bit more complicated, and isn’t just a big rectangle of fabric.

Volca

The Volca Syandana came alongside Ember’s second deluxe skin. While I don’t really play Ember, I do really like her Syandana, which just, well, does fiery things. There are a few other fiery Syandanas, but the Volca does it best, and fits wonderfully on not just Ember, but Revenant as well.

Now I look back at it though, if you use the wrong colours, it can look a bit… organic and weird and fanny-y. But frankly that sort of thing happens all the time in Warframe.

Uru

My favourite Syandana though by far is the Uru Syandana, followed by the Prisma Uru Syandana. Both versions are nice and shiny and metallic, without actually being primed items. What I really like though is how the Uru Sandana actually has a bit of a collar. It’s not just stapled to your back, it’s stapled to your neck as well.

Most other Syandanas are magically held up, but the Uru Syandanas are also a bit more flappy. The only other Syandana that does this is the Imperator Syandana. But the Imperator just isn’t as nice, and looks kinda like rubber and plastic, rather than matching metallic plates on the Uru Syandana. Lastly, the Uru also curls nicely around the body as you move, and I like that a lot.

I do also actually own the Uru Prime Syandana, I got it in the original Oberon and Nekros Prime Prime Unvaulting pack. But the Prime version actually doesn’t have the collar part, it’s more like a standard Syandana.

Luckily though, if none of these take your fancy, there are TONS of other Syandanas out there. So there’s something for everyone.
