All These Changes and I Still Dislike Arbitrations

The concept of Arbitrations was originally really bloody cool. Enemies that are much tougher than normal, longer missions and better rewards, but you only have one life and if you die, it’s game over, you’d be unable to continue and you wouldn’t be able to try again. This was end-game level content, somewhere where veteran Warframe players could stretch their legs and use all their OP builds. But no, that’s not what happens. That’s not what happens at all in Arbitrations. Either everyone dies, a few rounds are struggled through until someone gets oneshot by an invisible grenade or everything… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon GO had its first premium event. Was it worth getting?

Pokemon GO has extensively used in-game events to spice up the playerbase or showcase a new pokemon, and for the most part they’ve been very well received. But the recent Colossal Discovery, heralding the return of the Regis and the arrival of their overlord Regigigas, received a tepid response from the community at best due to being a premium event. You had to shell out $7.99 if you wanted to experience the event spawns, complete event researches, and catch the early-access Regigigas at the end. Was it worth it? Do you have a ticket for A Colossal Discovery? Be sure… [Continue Reading]

An Actual Survival Game Mode?

The Survival mode in Warframe is weird. It’s not really a survival game mode. At least in a normal sense. You’re not trying to save yourself from a horde of vicious zombies or ravenous beasts like in most survival modes, you’re just trying to kill enough enemies to pick up more life support capsules. Eventually, you do get overrun, but people have managed to go for hours upon hours with ease, and you used to be able to go on until numbers start overflowing if you used something like Covert Lethality and Ash or Ivara. What I’m trying to say… [Continue Reading]

Parodies VS Tropes – The Strange Differences in Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch Characters

Call me biased, but I’ve always believed that the characters in Team Fortress 2 are better than the characters in Overwatch. I’m not talking about skills or abilities or guns or playstyles or anything like that. A lot of those things are far more subjective and depend highly on the game you want to play. But when it comes to the characters and personalities of these games, there is a vast gap between what makes the TF2 classes who they are and what Overwatch’s heroes have become. To do this though, we have to understand the difference between a parody… [Continue Reading]

Overwatch… 2 is announced?

So, uh, yeah, Overwatch 2 is going to be a thing. A shiny 8 minute cinematic was released alongside a 3 minute gameplay trailer which gave us a glimpse of how the game runs, and frankly, I am very confused. The trailer is honestly a pretty standard hero thing where the good guys are outnumbered and the bad guys are faceless monsters (or rather, omnics) and clearly there are only two police officers in the entirety of Paris. And just when everything seems hopeless, oh look, everyone else arrives and the good guys save the day. I’m going to be… [Continue Reading]

A Personalized Grineer Enemy, Just For You

The Old Blood, Warframe’s newest update, came out with only an hour to go before October ended for me, so I wasted sleeping time waiting for the game to update and load, so I could jump straight into the flesh of the new update: the Kuva Lich. Kuva Liches are enemies created solely to hunt you down. They start as frankly rather out of place Grineer workers that wander around level 20+ Grineer missions, picked out by Kuva Guardians to be blessed. When a little Kuvaling spawns, you’ll see a flash and a Kuva Guardian will mention that a Grineer… [Continue Reading]

Jatttasey!

“JATTTASEY!” One panicked, static-filled word just flooded the comms. We pick up signals like this all the time, but as we’re nothing more than a shipment vessel, there’s not much we can do about them. It’s always the much larger military ships that get attacked anyway. The problem is that we’re currently docked at V Prime, awaiting shipment confirmations, where several military vessels are also docked. “Jkat? Kete? Here?” Aatiyuy, my fellow Tech, gives me a funny look. I glance around the storage room we’re in, keeping an eye on the proxies shifting crates around. “I hope not!” Taitok, another… [Continue Reading]

The Mysterious Case of the Broken Index Mission

Nightwave being back means that there’s always a bunch of somewhat obscure elite, weekly tasks for us to do. For the first week of Nightwave, we got two somewhat tricky tasks – to kill or capture a Hydralyst and to complete three rounds in a row in the Index without the Corpus scoring any points. Neither of these are that difficult but they can be a pain in the ass if you’re unprepared. So of course, I went to do this Index task only slightly prepared. Knowing that the Corpus can be sneaky bastards, I took Khora, who has a… [Continue Reading]

The Hallowed Flame Event – An Interesting Take on Survival

Remember when the Emissary Assassination required killing Infested to keep a lamp lit so you could kill the boss? Turns out, that sort of thing makes for a great mini event! Hallowed Flame is the current Halloween event in Warframe, with a handful of nice rewards and a new twist on the old survival game mode, of all things. Which is nice, because last year’s event was just a copy of the event from the year before, the “fight a juggernaut by making it run into exploding pumpkins” mission. Hallowed Flame is pretty simple. You kill a Zealot, pick up… [Continue Reading]

The Eternal Question of What To Power Up Next

After trying to get an EX Pass for weeks (and only getting one because a ton of new EX Gyms were added), I am finally the proud owner of a Shadow Ball Mewtwo. It’s a mediocre Mewtwo with a mere 11 Attack and not really any good stats anywhere else, but it’s a Mewtwo with a rare legacy move that makes it super strong. So of course I’ve had people suggest I power it up. But should I power it up? I mean it IS a Mewtwo. With Shadow Ball. I have lots of Mewtwos though. About 30, to be… [Continue Reading]
