The Problems With The Legendary Beasts

Up until this summer, the Legendary Beasts have somewhat plagued Pokemon Go. They were in research breakthroughs for the longest of times, especially Suicune, which no one wanted. We had the Legendary beasts for ages and most people were somewhat tired of them. Over the summer, we did get three 3-hour raid events in which there was a chance to get shiny variants, but even then, they are still… a chore. Last week was a chance to get Entei, Suicune and Raikou in level 5 raids, but aside from that, most people have them from research breakthroughs earlier in the… [Continue Reading]

Mewtwo is Overrated. In Pokemon Go At Least.

When I first started doing raids on a regular basis, everyone was always like “where are your Mewtwos? Mewtwo is the best!” And I was always like “give me a break, I’ve never caught one!” or “I’m literally helping you fight a raid so I can catch one!”. As cool as Mewtwo is, as a Pokemon Go newbie, I was always recommended to load up on Mewtwos because Mewtwo was the damn best and I needed an army of them. Nowadays, I’m sitting here at level 37 and I don’t have a single powered up Mewtwo. Well I have one… [Continue Reading]

The Mediocre Suicune Raid Event

Suicune is a weird Pokemon. It’s worthwhile in the handheld Pokemon games but in Pokemon Go, Suicune is just a mediocre Pokemon and I’ve never been sure why. I think it’s because it’s a pure water type that doesn’t do very much damage at all and is tanky but can’t be used in gyms. In fact, a lot of people didn’t really want to come out to do the Suicune Raid event, and I spent most of the event doing it with tourists. Or sitting at home because I don’t have the money, time, effort or golden razzberries to catch… [Continue Reading]

Why Rayquaza is the Best Raid Boss

For the month of August, Rayquaza is the Legendary starring in level 5 Raids in Pokemon Go. Last time Rayquaza popped by was in March of 2019, but this month is the first time that Rayquaza has appeared with a shiny form. Side from the potential (and amazingly sexy) shiny, Rayquaza is mostly the same, with the same attacks and all that. But the weather dragon is probably one of the best raid bosses around. Why? Well, there’s three main reasons. The first is that Rayquaza has lately seemed to coincide with events or reasons that make it easier to… [Continue Reading]

Splitting That One Free Raid Pass

In Pokemon Go, you get one free Raid Pass a day. That free Raid Pass can be used on whatever raid you want except for EX Raids, which require a special black EX Raid Pass. Once you use the free, orange Raid Pass, most of the time you have to use a Premium Raid Pass to do raids. That would be fine if you regularly buy Premium Passes or are flush with them after finishing the Special Research tasks. After all, it only takes two days of getting a full 50 coins to be able to buy a Raid Pass,… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon You’ll Never Be Able To Obtain

In Pokemon Go, there are some Pokemon you will never, ever find in the wild. Because some Pokemon only appear in specific regions. Not regions in normal Pokemon games, where you can only get Sinnoh Pokemon in the Sinnoh region. Regions as in genuine geographical regions. The idea is that Pokemon on earth actually live in different locations. Which makes sense, because Pokemon would live in various environments based on their dietary needs and all that. It’s cool and all, but Pokemon being unavailable in different countries is quite a pain in the ass when it comes to actual gameplay.… [Continue Reading]

Getting Closer to Legendary Monsters

I’ve noticed a change in Pokemon Go recently. A change when it comes to Legendary Pokemon. There’s something off about them, and not the fact that many of the recent Legendaries can be taken down with just four accounts. No, the change I’ve noticed comes to how… close they are. A while back, I wrote a very angry, very scathing article about Latias, the little red Pokemon that’s more of an airplane than it is a dragon. My biggest criticism of it was that the bastard was way too small a target, moved around too much, attacked too much and,… [Continue Reading]

On Articuno

I have way more pent up anger towards non-existent monsters than I have any real right to have. Just yesterday I was complaining about how Latias was a right little bitch, and now I’m about to go on another 500 word rant about another Pokemon. Today’s victim is Articuno, the first of the Legendary Birds from the Kanto region. One of the old originals. Basically, Articuno is a bastard. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit unfair. The main reason that Articuno is a bastard is that I have failed to catch Articuno for a very long time. Basically, in the… [Continue Reading]
