Welcome to Kolasi – Twisted Palms

This week, instead of normal articles and for an April Fools joke, I’ll be sharing a new Phoviverse story arc, a story set in my fictional universe, with a bunch of nonsensical and definitely not human characters. Join a team of adventurers as they visit a strange jungle world to track down a dangerous beast. Read the original story here. Kolasi, despite its name referring to a place of fire and brimstone, was only really slightly better than a non-existent afterlife. It was an abandon-world, meaning that most of the jungle-laced planet was free from civilization, and the megafauna was… [Continue Reading]

Welcome to Kolasi – Planning A Trip

This week, instead of normal articles and for an April Fools joke, I’ll be sharing a new Phoviverse story arc, a story set in my fictional universe, with a bunch of nonsensical and definitely not human characters. Join a team of adventurers as they visit a strange jungle world to track down a dangerous beast. Read the original story here. The Great Dessaron Battle Arena was the main form of entertainment for the twelve intelligent races of this small, cozy universe, where people would watch, either in person or on live streams, gladiators fight against each other, with real blood… [Continue Reading]

April Fools Day!

Okay so today is April Fools Day, but it’s also my birthday. Normally I’d do something stupid, make a stupid blog post about how my cat has taken over or something. Or maybe I’ll add a custom WordPress theme for a day or something. But no, I’m not doing that this year. I’m tired, I’ve been working hard and life is just all over the fucking place, so I’m going to just step back and take the day off. Luckily for me, here in Cyprus, April 1st is a national bank holiday, meaning I don’t have work and I can… [Continue Reading]

A Strange Twist of Naming Fate

If there’s one difference between aabicus and I, it’s that we’ve had vastly different usernames. Aabicus has been aabicus for decades now. Meanwhile, I’ve jumped through a myriad of usernames. I started off being Phovos the Raptor, I shortened that name to Phovos, then, when I REALLY got into TF2, I started calling myself Medic. When I slowly stopped playing TF2 and after SPUF died, I moved away from that name and began to call myself Retvik, since my desired username, Arkay, wasn’t available. That was until I had a breakdown in December of 2023 and decided to start calling… [Continue Reading]

On Having Written Over 2 Million Words

Turns out, I’ve written over 2 million words here on the Daily SPUF. That’s a lot of words. Like, I can barely comprehend a million words, let alone two million. Really, a million of anything is a huge number. One million seconds is equal to about 11 and a half days, a week and a half nearly. And that’s just seconds, a very small unit of measurement. On top of that, the Daily SPUF itself recently passed the 3 million word mark, meaning I’ve written a third of this blog’s content, and that discrepancy is only going to get bigger… [Continue Reading]

That Aquaman Movie

Every week or so, I visit my dad and we watch a movie together. He’s got pretty much everything, Netflix, Amazon Prime, all sorts of streaming services, so there’s plenty of choices to be had. We were going to watch Aquaman 2, but I hadn’t seen Aquaman 1 yet, so we decided to watch that first. And it was an alright movie. I mean, as far as super hero movies go, it was fine. A nice origin story, some changes of heart, the whole becoming a more devoted super hero thing and unlocking more powers, it’s pretty standard. The story… [Continue Reading]

On Writing Sexy Things

This article is technically not safe for work. But honestly I’m struggling to write actual articles as of late, so you’re getting the random rambles from the depths of my mind. If you’re uncomfortable with mentions of sex and nudity, then you can safely ignore this article. However, I won’t be getting into anything too graphic, nor will there be any sex scenes, this article is just about writing about vaguely sexy things and stepping out of one’s comfort zone. N0w, normally, I’m not that interested in sexy things. In fact, it took me years to even be sexually attracted… [Continue Reading]

The 21 Year Old Bohrok-Kal

I have a lot of Bionicle parts, but I weirdly don’t have that many Bionicle sets. Well, I kinda do, since I inherited all of my brother’s Bionicle sets. When we went our separate ways and brother moved in with his (genuinely charming) girlfriend, he didn’t have room for both his comic collection and his Bionicle collection. So I inherited it, aside from his absolute favourites. However, the Bionicle sets I own, they are almost ALL custom MOCs, things I’ve built myself. In fact, some of those MOCs are ancient – my Arkay MOC is at least 10 years old… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Twitch Streamers

In my desperate bid to write articles, I am not just scraping the bottom of the barrel, I have clawed my way through it and am on my way to digging towards the center of the earth. But, well, I’ve had a lot of Twitch playing in the background while I work, so I feel like this is a good topic to write about. Plus, I’ve mentioned Youtubers that I follow before, Twitch is no different. Anyway, here are some of my favourite Twitch streamers. The assorted friends and stuff Before I go into streamers who I don’t know but… [Continue Reading]

On Struggling To Write Articles Again

Lately, it’s been a real struggle to write articles for the Daily SPUF. Normally we have 10 articles ready to go, but because I’ve been busy with real life, that number has dropped down to around 5, and I really need to start writing articles again. The problem is, I’ve kinda just… written so much lately, that doing Daily SPUF articles is hard. And no wonder. I just went and checked my stats on my profile, and I have written over 2750 articles on my own. That is a LOT of articles. A minimum of 1.3 million words, assuming every… [Continue Reading]
