As is tradition, at the end of the year, all the Pokemon from this year’s community days all come back for one final hurrah, before going away again. What’s Wrong with Niantic’s Pricing Lately?

Something is going on at Niantic HQ. For the last few months, they have been doing weird experiments with things in the shop. We’ve had new boxes come and leave the store, with weird contents in all their boxes. Originally, boxes in Pokemon GO tended to do several things. One would be dedicated to hatching eggs, the other gives gear for raids. Then there would be a smaller box with a mixture of both. Recently, a new type of incense was added to Pokemon GO. This little blue incense doesn’t last very long, but if you go on a little walk, then you can catch some nice Pokemon. It’s called a Daily Adventure Incense, and it is a neat little addition, especially since you get a free one every day. 15 minutes of luring Pokemon to you. The incense is pretty simple. I’ve always found the Ultra Beasts to be quite odd. They aren’t legendary Pokemon but they’re not normal Pokemon either. Ultra Beasts sort of sit between pseudo-legendaries and normal legendaries. They’re also… not quite Pokemon. The designs of the Ultra Beasts are definitely quite alien, which makes sense when they’re supposed to be from other dimensions. While kicking some Mystic fools out of a gym and making it yellow, I actually noticed something I normally skip over. On the versus screen, by each player’s name, is a line of text saying “Battles won”. For most of the Pokemon in that gym, the number was zero. However, for the Rhyperior I was using, he had been in and won 150 battles. A coincidentally round number. Please Keep The Gold Pokestops and Leafy Decorations

For Halloween, Pokemon GO had a small, visual update. The over-world map was spruced up with Halloween-y decorations, and were also upgraded to be a little more accurate. We also got orange Pokestops and carved pumpkins to match the Halloween mood. Alongside the visual changes, we also got a nice remix of the music from Lavender Town, all the way back from gen 1.
