Finding My Old 94% Saints Row 3 Save

Lately, I’ve wanted to play something new but familiar. And preferably with low graphics so I can play with a decent framerate. I browsed through my game library and noticed that I hadn’t played any of the Saints Row games in a while. The last time I tried anything like that, I found myself playing Agents of Mayhem, and I very much ended up giving up on it. The game just wasn’t enjoyable to me, and wasn’t really Saints-Row-y enough. I’ve had similar problems with the Saints Row games, but something drew me into reinstalling Saints Row 2 and 3.… [Continue Reading]

Saints Row 2 is coming to PC…properly this time!

Saints Row 2 is among my favorite games of all time. It was the first one where the devs stopped trying to make gritty GTA clones and instead created a gangster sandbox that didn’t take itself seriously. Yet it was also before they veered off the deep end into wacky zany nonsensical insanity, which leaves Saints Row 2 as the perfect middle child of both worlds. Its one major problem is that the PC port is downright terrible, making it a chore to even see the great game underneath the choppy framerate, unplayable vehicle sections and constant crashes. But all… [Continue Reading]

Stilwater is bursting with personality, the combat… [Continue Reading]

4 More Things I Miss From Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2 is such a good game! I’ve said it before, most Saints Row fans have said it before, but I honestly have never played a better open-world sandbox game, and I recently got Grand Theft Auto V. The city is vibrant, the tone balances gritty gang violence with tongue-in-cheek game-y action, the characters and story are solid and the gameplay is bursting with variety and unbridled freedom. Saints Row the Third does a decent job of carrying this over, I’d give it an 80% in all, and most of the big things it missed were detailed in my last article… [Continue Reading]

On Laser Sights

Laser sights are one of my favorite weapon mods in games; they’re just so cool looking! Despite being relatively old technology (reflex sights were invented in 1900!) they have a sci-fi, high-tech feel to them that makes any gun look more badass. There are two major forms of laser sights in video games: ones that come with a visible beam of (usually) red light or ones that are simply a colored dot showing where the barrel is pointed. In real life, the latter is the only feasible option since the laser beam is too difficult to see in normal daylight and… [Continue Reading]
