Corrupted Holokeys Suck

For some very weird reason, the Sisters of Parvos don’t use melee weapons. All the weapons you get from killing a Sister are standard guns. However, there still are some new Tenet melee weapons available. They just don’t have anything to do with the Sisters of Parvos.

Why aren’t these weapons available from the Sisters?

I’m not sure, but I assume it’s because the Sisters all skipped leg day and arm day. My guess is that the Sisters just aren’t strong enough to use melee weapons or something like that. Sisters generally tend to be skinny anyway, so seeing one wield a large weapon probably just didn’t look very good.

Instead, these weapons are being sold by the Perrin Sequence, one of the six main syndicates. I find this also to be quite odd though. Sure, Ergo Glast is tied to the Corpus and he does somewhat emulate Parvos’s leadership. But it just seems odd that he’s selling the weapons to us.

What’s even odder is the currency you have to use to buy these items. Corrupted Holokeys are a new resource that drops from Void Storm missions. So all we have to do is a few Void Storm missions, right?

The grind is awful

Void Storms are much longer versions of standard Void Fissure missions. You have to first do Railjack objectives before you can do the relic-opening part of the mission. And the second parts are just as long as standard, non-Railjack missions. The drop chances for Holokeys are dependent on the proxima you are in, and in any mission, you have a 37% chance of getting what you want. Thankfully, Grineer Railjack is much quicker than Corpus Railjack.

Assuming you get that 37% chance and speed-run Flexa, the quickest Veil Proxima node, it takes 20 missions to get enough Corrupted Holokeys to buy one of each weapon. That’s assuming an optimal team and good luck though. Farming anywhere else though just drags things out even longer.

But because of the diluted reward tables, we have an extra amount of RNG screwing us over. It’s not just relic rewards here. Alongside the guaranteed Prime item (or Forma BP), you randomly get a ton of things. These are either resources, Railjack blueprints, extra relics, Sevagoth parts or Corrupted Holokeys. That’s a very messy pool of items.

The only other way to get guaranteed Corrupted Holokeys is via the Sisters themselves. Upon killing or converting a Sister, you get one Corrupted Holokey. Four if you are in a full squad. That’s fucking retarded though, because it takes about an hour to defeat a Sister. It also completely screws over solo players too. Somehow, the fact that Sisters now drop one (1) Holokey is somehow worthy of a dev workshop post and doesn’t even ATTEMPT to fix the awful grind.

It’s even worse if you want 60% weapons

I’m only planning to buy one each for the mastery. But if you want a 60% status Tenet weapon, you really need to put in the work. Sure, you can just watch the rotating inventory and buy high percentage weapons as they pop up. However, to get 60% requires a minimum of 320 Holo Keys, And that’s assuming you find the elements you want.

I suppose at least the melee weapons are reportedly not amazing. So there’s no real need to rush the weapons or get 60% variants. Unfortunately though, since these weapons are Tenet variants, that means you need to shove 5 Forma into all four weapons to get all the mastery from these bastards.

But for now, you can easily ignore this grind, unless you REALLY want to get all mastery possible right now.
